@Lemex - I think tea bags actually contain the worst tea leaves. The good quality leaves are sold as, well, loose leaves. I've no idea why tea is considered a "British" thing really - it's definitely part of British tradition - but tea is also quite a Chinese, Indian and Japanese thing lol.

As for butty, I thought slices of bread worked too. Never actually heard of stotties either though!

@minstrel - I totally agree re the name spotted dick :D Unfortunately, I don't like pies. Neither savoury pies nor sweet pies really. I do love tarts though, but rather sweet ones and not fruit ones. I'm not a fan of cooked fruits. In fact, I never took to British desserts that well I think. Chinese desserts FTW! :cheerleader:

My brother-in-law is in the US Air Force, and they are stationed overseas near Bury St. Edmunds. She said they have an American Foods section at the grocery store, and that her local friends are always asking her to get them things from the store on base. Things like Goldfish, Ziplock bags, and Cool Whip.

I think I'd probably die without Ziplock bags.. lol

    Pease Pudding, in it's perfection.

It's sort of like rice pudding, only not.

    Pease pudding hot,
    Pease pudding cold,
    Pease pudding in the pot,
    Nine days old.

Definitely heard of South of Durham, but I have to say that I'm not convinced the marketing jingle covers its best points.

    I have a coin from 1741.

A few years ago I ate sushi at least two times a week. Nowadays I don't like it that much anymore :(

Kevin Bacon is one of my favorite actors. Think after watching Tremors sometime back in the 90's made me develop a small mancrush on him for some reason.

Oh, and I've been struck by lightning two times, sort of... The first time I was in my house, the second time I was on a bus, so it didn't hit me physically.

At the age of 11 I did a reverse bungy jump, where they shoot you from the ground rather than falling from a bridge. They had to aim me at an angle because I was so light there was a risk I'd hit the crane.

The one time I attempted online food shopping they sent me three cans of pease pudding as a weird replacement for something else. Can't even remember what, but they're still sat in my cupboard over a year later.

I met Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes of Ghost Hunters at a meet & greet once. Grant gave me a hug, and I talked about it to the point of annoyance in the weeks following.

I now hate Ghost Hunters. lol

But what is it made of?

I've never liked rice pudding. It was a very odd concept for me to get used to when I first got to England. Rice pudding looks horrid.

Various boiled peas, I think, until they resemble a kind of puddingy-porridge consistency. It's traditionally served with a bacon joint.

Am I the only one in the Southwest US? Oh that's right, it's impossible to hate Mexican...

Although I don't really like hard shell tacos. I love corn tortillas, especially fresh. They are so soft and doughy. And fresh flour tortillas... I could eat them like giant fluffy potato chips.

Those hard shelled tacos though... with cheap ground beef and veggies... There is so much more to it then that, what a cheap imitation.

@Megalith: I think Mexican food is delicious. Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, carne asada, etc. are great. Fattening, but great! Lots of guacamole and cheese and sauces and stuff...

Your making me hungry @minstrel and lunch isn't for another couple of hours... Tortas... Barbacoa... Tostadas

Anyone ever notice that any mexican plate can be made with the same ingredients: beans, rice, meat, and tortillas? Just prepared in different ways....

Just realized I wrote brunch... I meant crunch wrap. lol

    That sounds positively gross... lol

@Megalith - what you said reminded me of the Korean burrito... heard of it? It's invented by some American guy and it's all the rage apparently. Not sure how long ago this was though, it was on some blog/buzzfeed type site and I didn't check the date lol.

Bacon joint? I've heard about smoked ham before, but this is taking it too far.

Sorry about that, the coding was wrong for some reason, (even though I used auto) decided to repost since it took me so long to notice....

    I love bacon.

I drink a lot of tea.

Even though my parents weren’t native English speaker, they thought us how to speak it, alongside Dutch. This means I’m not perfect at it (especially concerning grammar and having an extensive vocabulary), but it has become the language I think in and can use best to express my emotions.

After watching The Lord Of the Rings movies for the first time, I had quite the crush on Elijah Wood. Now I don’t fancy him very much anymore.

    I really like oyster sauce.

    I have 14 siblings.

I’ve never been drunk- nor do I ever intend to be.

    I’m addicted to lip-balm.

In a stunning bit of irony, Rue Dog's favourite toy is an oversized stuffed pig named Bacon. And yes, he plays a game called Save Bacon. The rules are simple: Rue does a sit, stay. I hide Bacon somewhere in the house. Yell: Save Bacon! And the game is on...
