We are leaving on a road trip tomorrow looking for some land and a home in the mountains. We will begin in Xalapa, got our eye on a place there, spend 3-4 days, then on to Papantla, then Oaxaca.
We found a place in the Sierra Madre Mountains just outside of Cordoba, it is a beautiful place. Now a banana plantation, it is flat land at the foot of the mountains. A whitewater river runs right behind it, fed from the glaciers of the mountains. Pico de Orizaba is the tallest peak in Mexico, it can be seen from the gulf and all over Cordoba. Our home will be built from the stones in the river like this one, you only pay for the labor. Here is the stone transport.
