So I'm not wise anymore. Well, I still have two, so I'm only half as wise. They were complicated and difficult, so I was supposed to go into hospital and have a full general anesthetic, but that would have been a long wait and a worse recovery, so I convinced a different surgeon to do it while I was awake in the chair. He was a real cowboy about it too, must have shot me up with painkillers at least 6 times, and gave me a little tube of nitrous to breath on to calm me down and help with the pain, but it did neither very well. They were hard to pull out apparently, very hard. But it is done now, I just have to get the stitches out in a little while. I can't seem to get them to stop bleeding though, it's not much, but enough to make me feel ill. I'm not sure if that's normal or not, and there are no dentists open on sundays to check. Does anyone know if its normal for them to bleed after 48 hours? They do hurt alot less though, its more of just a stiffness in my jaw, and swelling. Edit: I just found this which answers all of my questions. I love the internet (and google).
Ouch. Wisdom teeth hurt like crap especially if your older. I got mine out when I was seventeen. Doctors told me that between the ages of 17 and 20 the roots on the wisdom teeth hadve'nt developed yet so their easier to pull out when the roots are short. Hope your not over twenty. PS: I was bleeding for about 24 hours afterwards but your problem is probably connected to my above comment on root length. If you are really worried about it though it never hurts to call in an emergency visit to a doctor. Even one that isn't a dentest might be able to tell you a little.
Thanks, I'll do that if it gets any worse, and yes, I am 21. They were impacted wisdom teeth though, so they were completely sideways in my gum. I'm not in much pain though, which is good.
Impacted make all the difference in the world. Might as well be pulling out a well-oiled piece in Operation.
My dad had his wisdom teeth pulled at the hospital. When he woke up his chest hurt really bad and he convinced himself that they had been kneeling on him to pull them out. xD
Haha, he might not be far off, with me, they had the assistant chick holding my head down and the dentist pressing on my shoulder to hold me down. They had quite a bit of trouble getting the left one out.
I can believe that! D= I'm glad I haven't had to have any teeth out. My dad has a history of embellishing the truth. xD He told me he'd been bitten by a shark when I asked about a scar on his back. Really he had some vertibrea(sp?) fused together. D=
Normally they'd use live Komodo Dragons but there was a recent lawsuit claiming they were "Deadly." Poppy cock!
Well, yeah. The lousy patients kept getting infected. I still don't see why they had to put them all to sleep, though.
Well, shark bite does sound much cooler than fused vertebrae! I don't have many scars so I can't really make up stories about them. I have one across my left eyebrow though, that you can only see when I frown. I always thought that was pretty cool.
I have one on my right eyebrow from a piercing gone wrong. xD Another from a burn I received from the oven and chicken pox scars under my eyebrow hairs. xD You guys have such wild imaginations! =D
I can see that I am going to become a recluse in a padded cell if I continue to read this thread any longer....
Maybe you are... Maybe we are all just figments of your imagination right now... Maybe its all in your head... [/paranoia]
