I liked The Road, put Blood Meridian down unfinished, and after seeing the movie version of No Country for Old Men have zero interest in the book.
I tried Blood Meridian and All The Pretty Little Horses. Just ...nope. I wasn't able to get very far with either one. I'm not a huge fan of Hemingway either, whom McCarthy is sometimes compared to, but at least with Hemingway I could follow the story and know what in heck was going on. I've read quite a few of Hemingway's books (and short stories, which I enjoyed more) and at least got through them. McCarthy? Nope.
