It was yesterday during a downpour here in Florida, I happen to be the weirdo walking down the street in the torrential rain (I was at the gas station, had to get back somehow...) and I thought I heard some weird high-pitch noises, so I paused, followed the sound, and what do you know, down inside a large storm-drain was this tiny tiny little black kitten (probably only a few weeks old) getting SWAMPED by gallons of water every second. I slid the grate out of the way and almost fell in reaching down like 4 feet to get the thing, but got it out, and now it lives happily in my house . It's so small and soft, I think I'll keep her. I'll try to get a picture up by tomorrow. I've always hated cats, but it's so cute... I can't get rid of it.
Congrats! I hope you develop a real love for your new companion. And thanks for showing some compassion for a small animal in trouble - it makes me feel better about the human race.
That's a really good thing you did. I'm glad you helped her, and I'm glad she's okay. I hope you keep her and have a lot of good moments with her.
That's so cool! It's destiny! Cats make me melt...especially kittens. You should definitely keep it ^^. Also yeh please do post a picture
I'm imporessed. And yeah, as long as it doesn't have an owner already, you should keep it. Cats can be really arrogant and, never does anything you tell them, expect you to be their personal slave and whine really loud when you don't drop everything you are doing and do what they tell you to do. In other words, they are like family.
What a heartwarming story. I am glad Kitty is safe. Awwwh. I second Mal --names? Assuming she doesn't already have an owner...
Ah, how sweet. I read this the other day. Dogs come when you call. Cats take a message and get back to you later. lol Please show us a pic!
Yes, and if odd, unexplainable events start occurring in his life it has absolutely nothing to do with the cat.
Not the best quality picture, it's at my girlfriend's house right now (that's her reading), but you can tell how cute and tiny it is. She named it Ponine (some french name); I had no say in the matter.
Sounds like Eponine, from Les Miserables. Cute little kitty - I hope you give her a long and happy life!
Whoa, I just stepped into that "White people, rappers and the N Word" thread, and it's friggen intense over there! I like it way better over here with the kitties. Haha he's so goddamn fluffy!
Get it in while he's still a kitten, once he's all grown up he's going to be a pretentious little show off, and he'll make you work for it. Nothing against your little guy, Vespers, it's just grown cats in general can be real smug assholes.
Naha, a convert! All the best with her My sister's cat looks like that. My sister's cat also has an unusual name. My sister's husband also had no say in the matter. My sister's cat's name is Sausage.
We moved to the country right on a river. Across the street is an abandoned house, the man died five years ago. A black and white mutt dog sat in front of the gate every day looking down the road. The redneck behind us shot her twice worrying that she would bite his kids, she would never bite anyone. He hit her in the right ear and almost tore it off, it healed up over the top of her head and just stays there. My wife is pretty sharp, she said, "That man has been dead for five years now and still that dog waits, looking down the street every day, waiting for him to return." So it was nobody's dog. My wife is a big time animal lover. We have 2 horses, five cats, five dogs, six puppies and two bearded dragons. She started leaving food and water at the gate in the evenings in a bowl. I leave early so I did it in the morning. The dog would slink away, but come out later and eat. This went on for weeks, she was feral now, surviving on whatever she could eat. It became very important for us to gain her trust. Finally one day I walked outside, the dog was doing a happy dance approaching my wife. She now sleeps on "her" sofa in the living room. I included this as a chapter in my last book.
What a beautiful creature. Every so often as sad as it is, I need something to remind that there is the superior being. Then I see this picture and Indeed they are still up there. Great Story, and Just remember when the cat is acting stupid just say what I say. Look the Cat in the eye and Say "Huh and to think the Egyptians used to worship you". Works with my cat
Noooo! That cat is evil! Look at how that picture is hypnotizing everyone! You are all falling under it's sway! You are all doom! DOOMED!!!
