Her famous one is The Handmaid's Tale. I've read one short story by her, and from what I remember it was not bad - I am not familiar with her work though.
Just had a quick google on her. I'll probably read something of hers now, quite possibly the most tenuous way of being introduced to a 'new' writer.
So, I deleted the last few sentences which consisted of dialogue. Dialogue in broad Glaswegian Scots and proceeded with the third person omniscient narrative and got H.P. Lovecraft. Not sure about the method behind the analysis here.
