I don't think there's anything wrong with Rafen or Merle, to be quite honest. Neither sound odd to me. To be frank, a talking Raven sounded odder, since I had never heard of that before (Youtube provided me with this video to look at for Terry the Talking Raven).
I changed it. I'll see how it goes. I had this vision and I get stubborn when it comes to this vision of characters. The video, is cool.
Leaka at the end of the day its really weird using the name of a user name especially when its mine. Jackdoor or Crow are also of the same meaning blackbird. Please don't use my name. Its my RL nickname also. and a name I earned. And it really is weird. I'm also going to add for future RPGs no using usernames ifd that user is in the game. It just feels weird.
Looks like I'm the medic. I just figured a bunch of gun-wielding maniacs could use a doctor in tow to patch them up. Plus I just like to be different. Which is funny, 'cause I picked the Arabian tribe before I even realised I didn't have much choice... Anyway, I'm thinking Dr. Djalili could be the Jackson to your O'Neills, if you get my incredibly nerdy drift ;-P In a way, it kind of reverses the stereotype that Arabs are violent and Westerners are peaceful. Although I'm conscious that within the context of this RP, the Arabian tribe is notorious for being tricky and mysterious (i.e. assassin-types that keep to themselves and avoid direct combat). It seemed to me that not every member of the tribe would be an assassin, and as a doctor I could maintain the spirit of the tribe without the physical cloak and dagger. Edit: Merle is "Loyal, trustworthy, and kind. But he is also cruel, malicious, and cruel"? Aside from the cruel-sandwich (which cracked me up for some reason, even though it's obvious you were just tired at the time), how could a character be both trust-worthy and malicious? Those two qualities seem mutually exclusive. Also, the character is a bit cliched as an assassin (looks like the typical 'death-in-the-flesh'), but the raven is a bit of a cool twist, if not a bit odd. Reminds me of Vulcan Raven from Metal Gear Solid ("The raven on my head thirsts for your blood") Although my character, at least, might be a little perturbed when a bird starts talking to him. Do you think you could come up with some sort of semi-rational explanation, just to keep the dear doctor's brain from melting down? On a similiar note, Raven really is a very common name for a character, Raven Especially gothicky characters. It's not that bizarre. I mean, if someone picks the username 'John', does that mean we can't have characters named John...?
Emerald, I imagine your medic's patients might jump a bit when (he? she?) whips a stethoscope or other medical device from the folds of the robe. Especially nervous types may faint!
That's called the bad awesome doctor. One that you may or may not know if they can kick your butt or not.
Beltran, Bertram, Bran, Byrne, Corbin, Corby,Fechin, Guntram (war raven technically), Hraban, Vasco, and Velasco Also mean Raven and don't sound like our beloved GM
The Maps Up Here. It's important that the players contribute daily. If not their characters will be controlled by whom they have been teamed up with. If inactive without reason for 48 hours you'll be killed off. Thos who haven't done their profiles by the 1st November will not be eligable to play.
I'll just have to make a map myself for you Raven. Let my hand of squiggle lines and dots aid you in your important quest. I'm kidding. Good job Raven, it was very well described and everything. You don't want a map from Leaka, I can't draw a straight line even if it were a life or death situation.
Raven gave the okay, so I changed my profile a bit. Not too much, but enough to make a difference to her character.
I'm going to start writing up the character villians this weekend and I'll post them up once done. Some nasty brutal buggers in mind too.
