If you could date any person in the world, who would it be?

Mine would be Amy Lee, lead singer of Evanescence. Very talented and very beautiful.

I've been with my hubby for almost 10 years now. I'm happy right where I am.

    Oh gosh, that's hard.

I'd want to go the fictional route, and say Mr. Tilney of Northanger Abbey

Because I want a witty, clever man of strong principles whom I respect & can ultimately--when I'm in the wrong--gently but firmly put me in my place [which is in the kitchen, burning his sandwich because I a) can't cook and b) am a whiny, dependent woman who doesn't like being told what to do]. ☆〜(ゝ。∂)

If it has to be a real person, I'd guess Tom Hiddleston but I don't know him quite well enough to know if he & I would actually be a good match at all. I really just want to be his friend and discuss Shakespeare & literary theory with him for hours.

To be fair, I've been single for 26 years of my life now, so there's probably a very good reason I've never been with anyone to date. Potentially because I'm not a good partner for anyone at this point in time

Zac Efron but only because he's hot and the sex would be good.

Indeed. Mrs. A and I have been together for almost 16 years, I can't imagine dating* someone else at this point.

*she doesn't read this, so I can safely whisper that there are a few famous people with whom I've imagined enjoying a rather more short-term relationship, but that's for the imagination only.

Fictional: Quint from The Edge Chronicles as he is really loving, does amazing stuff, is really attractive but he has a sky ship too and that seals the deal. You have a sky ship? Marry me.
Nico from Percy Jackson if I was a little younger because he was my first book crush.
Real Life: I need to get to know people really. I mean I like the look of Orlando Bloom I suppose. Orlando Bloom then?

George Clooney if he weren't married. Just for one date, please! :)

Fictionally, probably Mr. Darcy from Bridget Jones' Diary rather than Pride and Prejudge or Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter (as an adult, don't worry!)

The future President. Then when I become "First Man" the New York Times can tell the world how awesome I am for making a few speeches even though I have actually achieved zero more than anybody else on the planet and am not one iota more important than them.

I never 'dated.' I'm in it for real and never went out with somebody I didn't already know. Married 30 years now.

However, life is short, and there is always that 'take the plunge moment.' If I were free to do so, and he was willing to take one evening's break from his long-term marriage, it would definitely be Ben Browder, the guy from Farscape. I am not romantically attracted to him, but I would love to hear his take on stuff about that fabulous show. And he seems like a really really really nice guy. And my eyes wouldn't be hurting either. His would probably go crossed looking at me, and he would likely try to introduce me as his mother's very distant cousin, but hey. I'm pretty cool once you get to know me. :)

I confess to being partial to Edward Norton. The way this actor 'acts'.. I wish I could talk to him and explore how he can do that. But 'dating'? Definitely not :D

By "date" are we talking "go on one date with" or "date routinely over a period of months/years"?

I have two very different answers, depending on which one it is.

ETA: actually scratch that, I'd just go with my wife, for the very simple reason of "first dates suck". I'd be fine never having another first date for as long as I live.

Tommy Wiseau. After reading the XKCD, I need to know if he was born early enough to be DB Cooper or not.

... That is the question, right? "What person would I most want to identify the time that they are from?" I am not sorry ;-)

ok, OP, to be honest, I would rephrase the question:

If you HAD to date a person other than your significant other for a week -it has to be romantic and it has to be with someone at least semi famous- who would it be?

Aside from Amy Lee, I'd also date Britney Spears in her prime, and Lindsay Lohan without that partying crap.

Rolling with this question, I'd have to go with Felicity Smoak from Arrow. She's the perfect combo of smart, funny and gorgeous. Okay...so what if her ex is a mildly sociopathic vigilante?

It would have to be Paul McCartney--to observe how he thinks and comes up with ideas. Would like to meet his daughters. Have met James, a sweetheart.
