I'm working on a story, and I am trying to decide between two different modes of transportation. Hoverboards: Thin, boards of metal like material that go fast and make a cool whizzing sound as you go buy. They're shiny. But you have to stand, pretty much all the time on the hoverboard. OR Winged Feet: They look like this: They're retractable, but they don't go as fast (close, but not quite.) Also, they allow you to sleep while floating.
And if this makes a difference to anyone, the story is set in Heaven, and therefore you feel no pain, and so no worries about falling off of your hoverboard, or your wings getting tired. There will also be lots of infants (In the Garden of the Small Ones) who will have winged feet. For eternity. The flying is used to travel between Earth and Heaven.
Ok, so I voted for winged feet...but I had to throw my thoughts out there. I think winged feet is a sweet idea. However, it seems like it would be more of a challenge to balance with winged feet than with a hoverboard. That's my extremely clumsy opinion.
I thought about this as well. But, although it would probably take a lot of getting used to (random somersaults) since you're in Heaven, it wouldn't hurt, and I think it'll become just as simple as walking.
Why not just have wings like normal angels. Winged feet...interesting.... I did vote hoverboard though. But if its set in heaven i don't know.
Hahahaha, my angels have three eyes, heavily built bodies, wings that extend 8 feet out of their bodies, and are about 7' 5". Also have pointed elf-like ears. Then, they have a human form, which sprouts little wing feet.
I'd be afraid if I had winged feet that I'd flip over and end up dragging myself along by my feet. My vote was for hoverboard. Back to the Future!!!
I walk like I'm perpetually tipsey therefore winged feet and hoverboards are probably a bad idea.. Lol.
Hoverboard for me. Winged feet.....how would you find shoes for those? You could just go barefoot, I mean you are flying!
Somehow, winged feet seem more precarious than a hoverboard, although I'm thinking more of a surfboard, like the Siver Surfer. To me, a hoverboard is more like a ground-effect transport - it repels a surface below it, flaoting a short distance above that surface, rather than free-flying. But winged feet; you'd have to keep your feet the right distance apart, and correctly positioned so you don't end up upended. It just doesn't "feel" as easy to master. I think of the board like a flying Segway, self stabilizing to keep from spilling the rider.
I know too much about how flying works to believe wings that tiny could actually work, even if it is a fantasy. Hover board.
I voted for the hoverboard.....soooo cool. I'd feel pretty badass + important. Surfing around on my nifty, one-of-a-kind hoverboard, omg. Now you've got me seriously wanting one! Haha.
Winged Feet! If the only limitations is speed of course. I can fly at any time without worrying about some one trying to steal my board. XD.
winged feet with my balance bad combo. hover boards I don't think so. tried roller skates, skate boards, and have the scars to prove it. walking for me unless you add horses to the list. But walking is safe and fun.
Haha, interesting question, so I have one. Is this story intended to be serious or more amusing/less-realistic. Because I'm having trouble seeing how tiny pairs of wings on both shoes would keep an average human aloft. Lol, leave it up to me to judge the physics of the situation.
Hoverboards, seriously. Try doing a 360 heelflip to frontside noseslide with winged feet. Go on, it can't be done!
It'd be awesome if they also went around ****ing **** up like the terminator. That story would outsell the Bible.
