In nonfiction (without recasting), could this work?

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by jakeybum, Jun 13, 2017.

In nonfiction, could this example work? No recasts, please.

Please note the combo of the en-dash (between the numbers) and the hyphens (in the compound modifier).

    Thank you.

Don't think u need either of the hyphens, especially the first, but not positive... I believe the per is designed to stand on its own...

The meaning is perfectly clear. I don't see any errors, though this sort of punctuation is a weak area for me. I feel some mild concern about whether it might clash if the surrounding text is narrative, as opposed to, say, this being an entry in a table.

Thank you. No. This is strictly business/legal writing, which I think works here.

I agree with Homer. I don't think you need either hyphen and it would look cleaner without, to me.
