"Instant Email Notification" - it's not working for me. Whazzup?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by LadyWriterOnTheTV, Jun 18, 2013.

I always click the box to request instant email notification of replies to my posts, but so far, I've only gotten one as a result of a comment on my first post in this forum. However, when I come to the board directly, I see lots of replies to my posts. What could be wrong?

    Anyone?

    Anyone?

    Bueller?

    Bueller?

    Bueller?

    ;)

Seriously... If I have posted this in the wrong section of the forum, would someone kindly direct me to the appropriate section? I was trying to find a spot for technical issues, but failed in my hunt.

Are you changing the drop down menu box that says: "Default Thread Subscription Mode:" in addition to checking the boxes and ending by hitting "save changes"?

I can only ask the basics, not knowing much myself.

No, GingerCoffee, I have not been doing that. I've never seen such a thing needing to be done on similar boards. And now I'm getting sporadic email notifications when there are new replies in the threads where I've posted. Hmmmmm......

    Been there many times.

Perhaps someone else has additional ideas.

Wait, it has an option for daily, weekly or with each post. What did you choose?

I always choose the one for receiving instant email notifications.

Were you e-mail notified of my last post and this one?

So here's a final test. If it works, (you get an instant notice), I think your problem is solved and I'm shocked that I actually helped someone with a technical computer problem. :D

    LOL! That worked, too!

One more test that one could try is to post a comment in another of my threads, such as this one:

Hmmm... OK, I guess I can't post a link. When I attempt to, I get an error message saying I must be a registered member for at least seven days. Since I've only been one for six, I must wait.
