I play the piano for my own amusement. I would like to learn to play the violin. My grandpa played it to me when I was little.
I've a very decorative acoustic guitar. It goes well with my furniture. Do I play it? Oh no. I dust it occasionally.
at least someone said drums... I was worried that we drummers were gonna be under-represented here (unless there are some annoying elitist types on here who think that drums dont count as an instrument!) Yeah, drums for 5 years, not bad now, if i do say so myself.
Pshah, drums are the only instrument worth counting. =P My favorite thing about them is that when you're practicing something that you just can't get right, you can beat the crap out of your instrument- it's anger management and good practicing time.
Yeah I talked to my brother and a few of my drummer friends and that's exactly what they said. I love the drums, though. I tried playing them, but I failed miserably, even with my brother guiding me (he's been playing a few years. Has a SICK set!) But I'm attempting to learn how to play bass guitar. I love the way it sounds. A more manly and aggressive tone than a guitar. Like a bass is all boom boom boom and an electric guitar is all nee nee nee nee. That's atleast how I look at it...
I've played guitar for 5 years now, both acoustic and electric, bass for about two, harmonica for as long as I have guitar, keyboard for three. I would go so far as to say music is my life.
I have played Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Piccolo, Paino, Guitar (acoustic and electric) and now tamper with everything through digital mediaums! I am a music freak! Been involved with music since age 3. Love it!
Play the clarinet, somewhat on the piano, guitar, played the recorder of course in, what, 2nd grade - things like that. On the other hand, I want to learn to play the violin (plan to soon). I fall absolutely captive to anything played on that instrument (sigh).
This isn't an instruemnt, but I also used to sing for a few years, from 4th grade to 8th grade, and when I got into high school I stopped. I'm not sure why, but listening to powerful female vocalists in bands like Tarja Turunen and Simone Simons makes me wanna sing again.
You probably don't haha. I have a friend whose been playing bass guitar for like 6 years and he says he sucks but he pretty much makes love to that instrument.
Finally, this is the thread for me! Basically, I love music, have ever since I was a child. I play several different instruments: 1. Piano (since I was like six) 2. Guitar 3. Mandolin 4. Harmonica 5. Ukulele 6. Saxophone (kind of) 7. Drums (learning) I like learning other people's music, but most of all writing my own. And I don't mean this to sound like an advertisement, but check out my music myspace here: http://www.myspace.com/seantrottexperience
I've been playing piano on-and-off for at least ten years, guitar for about two years. I stopped practicing both instruments seriously when I realized I'd never be good at either because I'm the type of person who just can't tell an A chord from an E chord. I can read a music sheet and hit all the right notes, but I just can't "feel" the music like real musicians can.
I haved played trumpet in the past, and drums. Right now i have been playing heavy metal lead/melody electric guitar and I am in a band that is in the process of getting everything together.
Mother of God! I play the drums, have been for about 6 or so years. My favourite genres to play are progessive metal/rock, blues and thrash metal. I can also play most metal genres, classical rock, funk, am currently learning jazz and latin. I have an eight piece TAMA Superstar from the 1980s, sounds awesome! Zildjian K Customs are my cymbals. I also own a 5 piece TAMA Swingstar for practice. I play guitar a bit, nothing to special just the old chords and what not I'll probably get lessons at some stage. I also play a little bit of bass. I can play a few things on piano, and I get the feeling I'd be alright at it if I got lessons - apparently its strikingly similar to drums. But yeah. I love music more than writing, so i have no doubt I'll eventually learn all of the above plus more!
I've played trombone for 8 years, in a brass band for 5. I've played the accordion for 15 years, since I was 5, and I also teach. I also play piano, but that's definitely just for fun!! Music is my big passion, especially the box
I can sort of play the piano, but not left hand. I am looking into lessons to learn properlly, but they are expensive as hell. it is something like £20 for half an hour at this music acadamy thing.
