Didn't know where to put this - the "Lounge" didn't seem a good fit. Anyway, our local, small-town paper is always good for a chuckle - whether for typos or police blotter entries about petty issues. Today we had an interesting personal ad though. Actually, I think it's the first personal ad I've ever seen that wasn't "looking to adopt" or "Jehova loves the world". LOL - I almost think it's a joke, but people are tight with money up here and, well, Sugar Island life is known for being somewhat off-kilter. I'll have to ask my Sault Evening News friends about it on Monday. Anyway, it's almost a brilliant flash fiction in its own right. Could easily be the start to a full-fledged story though. -Frank
The Lounge would have been a better place, because this isn't a writing issue. However, I'll leave it here as an example of how inspiration can strike from unexpected sources. Just be ready to latch ionto those story ideas when they flutter within striking distance.
I'm mystified. It can't be as blatant as it sounds, can it? Maybe the "female companion" is for his friend's horse, not the friend himself?
sure it can!... the guy's just being unexpectedly honest, is all... can't be for the horse, since a horse can't be expected to take care of the farm...
