Hello! My name is Roksana Szczesny and I just joined this wonderful community. Here are some facts about me and my life: I am 25 years old. I was born in Poland and moved to Ireland at the age of eight. The purpose of the move was so that I could receive medical care I desperately needed at the time. Which brings me to my next point: I am heavily disabled and very ill. I have Marfan Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Scoliosis and a plethora of other disorders I won't bother you with. I use writing as a coping mechanism, but I'd like to improve in it so that it, at least, yields somewhat satisfactory results. When I write, I mostly write poems. When I read, I'll read anything I find interesting. Aside from making and consuming literature, my hobbies include video games, pixel art, knitting and coding. Would anyone like to become friends?
Hi Roksana, Glad you’ve decided to join WF. There’s a multiple things you could do on the forums including joining with the contests to encourage you to write more, posting at the workshop, critiquing other people’s submissions at the workshop, participating in discussion threads or just general chat.. Before you explore the discussion threads you may like to brief yourself on the forum rules. It’s interesting you say that you enjoy writing poetry as there’s currently a contest running and if you submit and win, you’ll be given a virtual medal that would look good on your WF profile, so DO check it out.
