Writers always say "go to every writing conference you can". I've only been writing 2 years, and I haven't been to a single one yet. Does anyone else go to conferences? As I type this I just realized I missed a writing meetup in my own city last week I know writers digest is super popular. Is anyone here planning to attend this? https://gathertheworld.com/events/10-writers-digest-annual-conf
That's cool! I google writing conferences and saw a couple others. the only reason I mentioned this one is because I've heard of writers digest before. Is this like a year-round thing people do? Or do you only go to 1 conf a year? ... they seem pretty expensive.
I've actually never been to one before this year. I signed up for this one because it includes a pitch session.
I've never been to this one specifically, but I do go to DragonCon and they have a writer's track. It's some pretty interesting stuff, usually; not sure how dragcon matches up to actual writing-focused conferences but I'd recommend checking something like that out if you've never done it before. I'd definitely pick something that's close by, though, you don't want to have to pay for more than you have to without knowing it'll be useful to you.
