Is Magical Realism a genre?

    I thought 'magical realism' was human expression at its keenest and most beautiful while fantasy was for the droids/flesh wobblers.

    As far as I'm aware it's a sub-genre of Fantasy. It include a real or mundane setting and includes magic.
