Hi WF, Me and @Wrizzy have been talking about starting a short story critique group. We want structure, commitment, and fun. Here is a flexible timeline I came up with that Wrizzy doesn't necessarily disagree with (right?): August: Recruit, brainstorm logistics September: More brainstorming, maybe start writing October: Weekly meetups online through WF Groups section and/or through Skype (read aloud) to offer detailed, constructive criticisms for group members November: Debrief on whether group is working out, collectively modify group to fit needs Does that sound cool to you? If so, join our group!
Sign me up. Sounds like fun! There is a local writers club here in Tulsa, but they only meet on weeknights when I am working. So this sounds right up my alley!
I'll add you to the group Lancie. And wow look at those awards. I think we'll be having a pretty varied set of skills and experience by the way.
Hello fantastic humans interacting through zeros and ones moving through the ether if so called existence, @Lancie has been made administrator of the short story group (found in the groups section of the website -- to the right of the "what's new" tab). I'm taking a week hiatus from WF to minimize distractions. If you want to join the group PM Lancie and they'll invite you into the group. Over the next week folks may or may not continue discussing how to structure the group. In September we'll likely begin agreeing on our first assignment, the deadline, and how we want the critiquing process to work. By October we'll be slathering each other in constructive feedback.
