Because I am a nosey bugger, how did you come up with your forum name? I love cats, the cat I currently have is called Pepper and has the most amazing green eyes which makes him cute. My favorite number, is the number 2. (it reminds me of a little duckling) so that's where I got the name "cutecat22" from. How about you??
Name is Wrey. Wrey + bies = Wreybies! (Rabies) I thought it was clever at the time..... I've been thinking of shortening it to just Wrey.
I got my name from one of my ancestors, Thirdius Windicus, who was Cicero's personal assistant back in Ancient Rome.
I was sitting on the deck, looking at the view of the bay while trying to think of a user name. Hmmm...
I play guitar and sing folk songs. That makes me a minstrel. So, by a very complicated train of logic, I picked minstrel as my name.
Looking in the mirror one day, I noticed that I have a chin somewhere around the bottom of my face. But this unexpected discovery was only half of the equation. I had once heard the word "spin" used in conversation, and over a period of several months I managed to decipher its meaning from extensive research in my local library. It is apparently possible to "spin" objects. Much to my surprise I found that there is actually an object named after its propensity to "spin", and it is called a "spinning" top. Several days later I was shaving, and once again I noticed my chin, and BANG! There it was Chinspinner.
I got mine from a dream when I was 11 or 12 years old. 'Lemex' was the name of a Achilles-like albino giant that fought with a longsword during an American Revolution style war with some (weirdly) Edwardian technology in a fantasy world my dream invented in some detail.
My most favorite novel idea I came up with about seven years ago. And I was trying to come up with a pen name which encompassed the antiquity and epic-ness of it. Something like Lilith I thought to myself. But that is too girly. Although I really like the lith part of the name. Not a few minutes later did I remember the word Megalith. Seems appropriate enough.
I had a crush on a guy back in high school whose last name was Coffee and I used to think Ginger Coffee would make a great name.
Quite sure despite your repeated assertions to the contrary. It wouldn't quite have the same ring to it.
Lancie was a nickname that came from a play on my surname years ago. I used to use it a lot and thought I'd revive it.
I've been through sveral names, but particularly in this forum used 2. The first one Asune, was only 'cause I kinda liked how it sounded, it had a certain feeling of dignity within it. (Later I would find that is actually the name of a character and probably many more) The second one, lixAxil, is the name of a BGM within the soundtrack of certain VN I am a fan of. I like how it's not supposed to be a word but instead a mirror of the confrontation between two opponents (characters within the story) with the A in the middle representing the word Answer.
I combined creating a user name with the action of bringing out the compost, and voilà ! (Okay, that's not really what happened... )
It was a potential pen name -- my middle name and a shortened form of my last name. I've since decided I hate it. My most common screen names are Bethalea (a nickname my grandfather gave me) and ColorMySoul. I'm pretty spiritual and that one seems to resonate with me.
'Link' as in the protagonist of The Legend of Zelda. Since this was a writing forum, added 'the Writer'. I was originally going to call myself 'Link the Zora' like I am on the Zelda Universe forums, but didn't think it appropriate for this forum.
I always wondered whether your name came from the game. Thought it might have been something different. Especially since your pic shows a flipping whale. Or os that a barrel roll?
I would have thought Zelda would be the protagonist of The Legend of Zelda. Who is this "Link"? (Sorry, I don't play video games.)
Zelda is the princess of the game. Link is the hero who has to save her and restore balance to the land by gathering the triforce.
I see. Is the triforce an army, a mystical thing, or just some kind of weed? Landscapers in reality restore balance to land by gathering weeds.
A mystical thing that grants wishes. It represents three God's and nature's balance. The God of Power, Wisdom, and Courage. When someone evil gets their hands on it(Ganandorf) They make a wish that splits the triforce into three separate things. The wisher keeps one, (Triforce of power) and the other two go to people who embody what the represent. Naturally Zelda gets the Triforce of Wisdom and Link gets the Triforce of Courage. Rinse and repeat. Each Zelda and Link in every game are totally different generation with a whole new story but that part doesn't change.
