    Just My Cup of Tea!

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by aimi_aiko, Jul 14, 2011.

The title speaks for itself. I created a thread to talk about tea because of the fact that I'm currently hyped up on it and defeating sleep... again. :)

Anyway, I find tea (as well as coffee) a very great drink in order to keep yourself awake in order to finish projects such as (writing, cleaning, studying, etc). I know that sometimes energy drinks may be of use too, but I don't find them as affective as tea and coffee, due to that annoying crash a few hours later.

I tend to crash, just a little bit, from coffee, but I've never crashed over drinking multiple glasses of tea.

Tea happens to be my favorite drink, rather its - green tea, black tea, or any other tea I can get my hands on.

So I guess this thread can hold discussions about tea or any other beverages that you love or keeps you up and going through the day. :)

Oh, I love tea. I drink tea in the morning with breakfast, I drink it with lunch, and I drink it while I'm watching tv. It doesn't keep me awake, however, maybe because I drink so much of it. :p

My favorite teas would probably be earl grey and lapsang souchong.

In Ireland, society would fall apart without tea

    I love it :D

I don't like hot drinks. I tried normal tea, and even added a load of sugar, but I still didn't like it. I've also tried blackcurrant, or some fruit, tea but I didn't like that either, although that may be because I didn't leave the tea bag in long enough but I was impatient.

The best drink ever is just water. Good ol' water on its own straight from the tap.

I can tell the future in tea leaves. Want me to try? Alright, here goes... I predict... that at some point... someone in this thread will say they prefer coffee. :D

Nah, just kidding. I drink tea almost every day and prefer sweet tea from some fruit or berry. Though my favorite is Lady Grey, for some reason. Black or white tea doesn't matter to me.

I like Japanese green tea the best. Matcha green tea. [or something like that Mochi, Macha, whatever.]

Tea is the only drink that I can drink either hot or cold.

Coffee I can only drink cold. It taste gross hot.

edit: I have confirmed from the interwebz it is Matcha.

Likewise, but I also have some top-quality Jasmine Tea that is truly a treat. It consists of hand-rolled pellets of jasmine petals and fine tea leaves.

Only tea I can drink is Raspberry Leaf Tea, any other makes me feel really sick, even the smell of it. Which is a pain when my parents visit as they only drink tea. :/

I love good old English brands of tea with milk and no sugar. I drink it all day every day! :D

I find green tea really refreshing though, I have to say.

I second Japanese green tea! :) Awesome stuff.

Sun tea is good too. Unsweetened of course.

Energy drinks like Monster are not really good for you. Too much sugar, caffeine, and not enough water. They are hard on your kidneys. I prefer the Asian energy drinks.

I pretty much live of tea and coffee. Twinnings Earl Grey tea is the best! Like Ashleigh I pretty much drink it all day to ^^.

Can't wait to one day buy an awesome coffee machine too!

I don't drink tea but I love coffee. I'm not actually supposed to drink it but I still drink it.

Never understood why coffee is bad for some people. Personally i'd die if I couldn't drink it xD

I enjoy picking wild herbs, drying them out, then steeping tea from them.

I guess I love southern sweet tea too. You just can't live in Florida and not like it.

I do love a cuppa in winter, or when I'm hungover. Sometimes I just get this really random craving and have to go and make myself one. I usually drink Tetly or Bushels. Love my sugar in it too. I do like coffee, but I'm afraid the caffeine doesn't affect me the way it should, so a lousy pick-me-up for me. In fact after my first ever coffee at age 16 I fell asleep! Very unfortunate as I am very much a creature of the night and tend to have to go to work in daytime, interrupting my sleep patterns. Grr.

I'm normally a big tea/coffee drinker anyway, but I've recently discovered green teas, and my mind has been BLOWN. Honestly, I didn't realise how many difference types of tea actually existed! I've fallen in love with peppermint tea - it's caffine free, tastes nice, and leaves your breath smelling slightly minty
