    Letter Section (forum) Suggestion.

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Jack, Dec 22, 2008.

I just have one question to ask you, I thought I could PM you, but perhaps other people might ask this question as well... I was wondering if you have a section on your forum that allows people to post "letter(s)"? It can be for relatives, the army, government, friends etc, I have not seen any so far.

You can make a poll to see if people would agree with me? Anyway, its just a suggestion, if not thats ok, I can live without it. :p

    At current no we don't.

However If you send a PM to Daniel he is best to answer this question. He doesn't always get to see the threads since he is very busy with RL and study. It's best you PM this question to him.

You could post it in Nonfiction, with an brief explanation of what it is and what you want people to look for in critiquing it.

that's about what i was going to suggest... it's clearly non-fiction, so i don't see any need for a separate section, especially as the non-fic one isn't heavily trafficked...

I think a letter section is a wonderful idea.

    Dear God,
    To My Darling Baby Daughter,
    Dear Mother,

    This would be really great.

I'm not sure on what a letter section will benefit to the forum. I guess its worthy of debate.

I don't think there's enough demand for one separate to the non-ficition forum really.

    Maybe a sub-forum to the non-fic, then?

not even that is needed, since it's still non-fiction and there's not enough being posted in that section to make a separation necessary or even helpful, imo...

Well We don't often get requests for Letter writing forums. So I'd say the Non Fiction forum covers letter writing.

As said, non-fiction is probably the best place. If there was a large enough demand for a letters section, we could potentially add a subforum, but I just don't see that demand.

Non-Fiction is probably my best bet too.
Thank you Daniel and Raven for your time and replies.

It's a lot of effort on Daniel's part to add a subforum. And to be honest, there isn't the demand for it. There's no point in expending the effort and time on something which isn't going to be used frequently enough to make it worthwhile.

I really find this quite interesting. Perhaps make it a stick-up thread (if that's what they call it) at the Non-fiction?

I think it would be a hit ;)

Each thread is one piece for critique in the Review Room, so a stickied thread wouldn't work. Just post the piece in Non-fiction, and introduce it with a brief comment about its purpose.

This Question has been answered and therefore I see no need for further debate.
