Hello, I am Magnificent Ego. Please try not to confuse that with "Humongous Ego" or "Insanely Large ego." It may be magnificent, but it is by no means large. I write anything that comes to mind, given that I think it is of tolerable quality and am sufficiently inspired. Recently, I've had nothing but a drought, but I am hoping to remedy that, soon. Therefore, if you see a few critiques coming from me, you can probably assume that a story is on the way. --ME
Welcome to WF Magnificent Ego! Maybe going for a swim would end your drought? Well I hope to see some writing from you eventually!
Ah, puns. Amusing, at best. I probably won't be posting anything old here, purely new material. It could take a while. --ME
Hello Magnificent Ego, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own work should not be the very first thing you do here anyway. It is really worthwhile to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Hello Magnificent Ego and welcome. Cant wait to read some of your stuff but take all the time you need
Thank you for the welcomes Cogito, Nitreign--Pix, Shadow. A note to Cogito; I'm of the belief that if you want someone to do something for you, do them a favor first. That logic in mind, doing as many favors for as many people as possible could turn out...profitable. As such, I've decided that establishing a reputation as a reviewer is far more likely to earn you reviews than establishing yourself as a talented writer. You can do the former, and the latter will come with patience. Also, I'm not a fan of diving into things head first. I like to get my feet wet; explore the forums, research the prominent members, look into the policies of the forum, before I make the commitment to join. Seeing as I have, in fact, joined, one would assume I liked what I saw. Again, thanks. --ME.
