Pardon if this is the wrong place for this but I couldn't find where else to put it. I have found conflicting advice on some sites regarding if chapters in a MS word file for a manuscript should start at the top of a page or be spaced down a bit. Is there an actual 'rule' here or is it just opinion? Thanks -matt

while some guides specify each chapter should start at the middle of the page, for the sake of conserving paper and practicality, i start 1/3 the way down, which is enough white space to do the job, while not being wasteful... and, as an editor, that's what i advise mentees and clients to do...
