Monteverdi. Though, when my grandparents came through Ellis Island to the U.S. it got changed to Montivirdi.

My first name is after Saint Anthony, the Patron Saint of [finding] Lost Things. Also possibly derived from a latin word that means "Praiseworthy"

My middle name means "The Lord Increases"

I'm not exactly sure what my first name means, but I am aware that "Daniel" is gods "servant" in the bible.

Not including that above explanation of "Daniel", my full name, Daniel (first) Antonio (middle) Rios (last) Ferro (Moms Maiden name) translates to (in English):

    Daniel Anthony, Rivers of Iron-work

If you put it all together (and I know this isn't accurate) my full name is something like, "Jagged mountains close to God/heaven, who lived in a large house." I have no idea. :p

    Luz - 'light' in Spanish/Latin
Alicia - 'truth' or 'noble', depending on the source.
Romero - Spanish for rosemary, which means "dew of the sea", but according to my father it can also mean "(he) who walks"
Estrada - Spanish word that mean "road made by constant passage"

Together my given names could mean "Noble Light", and my surnames "Who walks the road" *shrug*

Allan: Variant of Alan. The meaning of this name is not known for certain, though it possibly means either "little rock" or "handsome" in Breton. Alternatively, it may derive from the tribal name of the Alans, an Iranian people who migrated into Europe in the 4th and 5th centuries.

Leon: Form of Leo. Late Latin name meaning "lion", ultimately from Greek λεων (leon).

My screenname Sophronia (which is feminine) comes from the masculine "Sophronius" which means "self-controlled, sensible"

My real name goes as follows:
Sarah - hebrew for "princess" or "God's princess"
Anne - french form of "Hannah"; not quite sure what it exactly means
Thorup - Danish/Swedish name of a place in Denmark that my ancestors came from

maia is a greek word... it means great mother, little mother, midwife and witch... all of which apply, to some extent... ;-)

it's also the name of the brightest star in the pleiades, named after the daughter of the titan atlas, granddaughter of gaea, goddess of the earth...

    I knew that.
I saw your name and I said that sounds so familiar.
I couldn't place my tongue on it.
When you are in a different place for to long you tend to forget your own original place.

I couldn't figure out if this was usernames or names in general.. so I'll do both.: )

Erinn - Ireland, pretty straight forward.

Dushechka - Originally Dusha, meaning darling in Russian, but I believe Chekhov created a spin off word, which ended up being Dushechka, both meaning the same thing.
