I can actually get counselling through work. Or at least, some kind of telephone support thing.. might be more like The Samaritans than counselling. Either way, not for me.

I'm on anti-anxiety meds. Just sometimes they don't quite do the job. :D

So I've just been to a CBT group workshop, was surprisingly really fun and relaxed. Actually looking forward to going back next week!

That's good to hear, Bryan! Keep us updated on how things go!

@Tenderiser - My misfortune is that sometimes I forget to take my anxiety meds, and last time it was for weeks due to me forgetting to refill a prescription. Dear God. D:

Is it possible to have a mild mood disorder and not know it? As in one moment you're happy, then the next you're suddenly irritable for no discernible reason?

I know it's not anywhere near the same as mood swings, but I'm curious as to the difference.

I am a woman and thought that it sounds just like being a woman, except my mood swings are not usually so mild. But I took no offence, don't worry. :) They make me feel alive and give me a wonderful opportunity for self-reflection and growth :)

Also, doctors always told me a hormonal woman is a healthy woman...@otherwomen is that a normal thing to be told?

Holy shit, I had a bonafide panic attack last weekend. It sucked. It's been years, and then suddenly bam, something happens that's totally silly and stupid and -- incidentally -- NSFW (or NSFF? Not suitable for forum?), so can't go into details, but man, that was so fucking shitty I still want to crawl into a hole in the ground and never come out.

I feel for you guys who go through this bs on a daily or weekly basis. :(

I guess the only good thing to come out of this is that I know there is still work to do, that I should make sure I won't neglect my mental health, for my own sake but also my loved ones', so maybe it served as a bit of a wake-up call. And I'm also once again reminded I have the best husband in the world; he keeps me afloat whenever something shitty tries to drag me down. #luckiestgalintheworld

My anxiety likes to rear its ugly head at the worst of times. Right now I'm writing out an outline for a book and my anxiety tells me it'll be like all the other times I tried and failed.

And to add to the shitcake, it's making me feel angry over things that happened YEARS ago. Like I can't just fraggin' stop using the same old "the cyber bully from he history forum" excuse already?! Why do I continue to give a rat's fuck about him??

Yes, bullying does leave a gigantic emotional and psychological scar... but I would've hoped that time would've eased that. Guess not thanks to my anxiety deciding that NOW of ALL TIMES to bring that shit back up.

Write a horror novel where a cyber bully is viciously tortured and murdered.

I did have an idea that a character confronts her cyber-bully and through a series of events, he's pinned down by a pillar and she simply watches as he burns alive in front of her. She says, "If we all wear masks to hide our true selves...then this is the real me." And cue her journey to the Dark Side of Life.

"Kim has turned to the Dark Side."
"Man, you're crazy! Why would you say that?"
"I watch her roast a man alive, Adrian. I must stop her before she hurts anyone else."
    "She's your friend!"
    "...Was. She was my friend."
    -------
And now I have a 'Revenge of the Sith' vibe coming from this character. :p

"Kim, are you even listening to yourself?" Kevin roared. "How did you go from such a nice person to a goddamned fascist?!"
"Scum like you. You all wanted a monster, now you've got one!"

(Now to make it all make sense within context...)

EDIT: Damn, seems like three of y'all really like Darth Kim. :D I'll begin plotting out her character and her descent into darkness. Only problem is, this isn't fiction/sci-fi, so she can't exactly obtain unnatural demonic powers, or join a gang of space pirates and start annihilating fools before Kevin comes for the obligatory "I Know You're In There Somewhere" fight. :p She's set in the modern world, so I'll have to figure out how she becomes evil and starts doing evil. Quite an interesting challenge.

I now return you all to your regular programming.

My sister didn't, once upon a time. I was suffering from depression, and she'd often mock me and say it was all in my head. Then she suffered from depression a few years later and I got to laugh in her face.

I didn't think humans had the capacity to do that.

I'm pretty anxious. At 4am last night (or this morning) my ex and I got into a huge fight, which I was okay with, as I was playing Overwatch.

Unfortunately, the fight ended rather ominously.

Me: "I haven't liked you in a long time, I don't care if you were cheating on me at this point."
Him: "Good. That makes it easier to do what I'm going to do."

Nothing has been said since then, but I'm paranoid now.

Oh geez... I think he pretty much spelled it out to you: he'll cheat on you.

If you don't even like the guy this could be the best thing for both of you

No no no guys, this is my EX! We broke up back in the first week of August. That's why I'm scared of what he's going to "do". He's a shady guy. Last night he told me he had been dating me while being in another relationship. That's the issue.

This is the kind of guy who would do revenge porn, or beat the shit out of you.

    He sounds like a winner.

Why do you even talk to him?

Ah, you're afraid he'll hurt you? Hmmm... has he ever been violent to you before?

If this guy intends to do you harm, call the police and stay with your parents/trusted friends. I'm not sure if he's actually going to hurt you, but that's what you can do if you're afraid for your safety.

Why are you even speaking to this penis ... just stay away from him, don't take his calls etc , and if he continues to bother you just go to the police.

Also why were you together at 4am - were you having a "case of the ex" ? That's always a really bad idea

Everything is crap and stressful at the moment. I feel like I'm in a novel and the author is really serious about that advice to make your characters suffer, and keep piling it on until the tension is at a peak.

I'm so stressed I didn't eat dinner, and anyone who knows me IRL knows that is HUGE. The last time I felt too ill to eat I was a few hours from falling into a coma.

Trying to deal with things one thing at a time, but I just want it all to go away. I wish there was someone I could lean on but there's nobody - I'm the one who deals with things for other people. My mum is dependent on me. My friends are fellow mental-health sufferers (who else would put up with me?). I have nobody else.

    Take care of yourself, Tendie! D: If I were in London, UK, I would be more than happy to let you stay with me in my home but alas, I am not. ;__;

We may all have mental health problems, but that doesn't mean we can't lean on each other for support. If anything else, we understand each other more than those without mental health.

Thanks guys. You're the best :blowkiss:

I'm going to deal with the major stressor today and make a plan to deal with the rest. That'll make me feel much better. And then I'm going to spend the weekend playing mindless games.
