I just did the POV switch in a recent story I wrote. It's a short, comprising one chapter of my little collection so I wasn't sure how or even if, to attempt it. The story is told first person POV, but there was one little part where I had to describe what the MC's friends witnessed...so I put a break in there to describe the events they saw as happening 'One hour earlier' and then wrote their scene in 3rd person POV. I feel it worked pretty well and felt smooth. It's in my editor's hands now so we'll see if she disagrees on that part
