    Most Users Online Ever?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by funkybassmannick, May 25, 2011.

So the main page here on WF says:
    ????

The most I've ever seen on this site was still under 300. This says there were over 5,000? That wasn't that long ago, either. Does anyone know why there were so many users online, and does this happen often?

NaNo starts in November, right? Maybe it was people looking for writing sites as they were thinking of participating? (I don't have a clue, just a guess)

I'm pretty sure it was spammers, bots and such...I remember something being mentioned about it before, but I never really paid attention to that kind of stuff, so I'm not positive.

So, it was a zombie takeover? (Kinda...)

Perhaps all the bots were participating in NaNo, and needed some advice?

I'm pretty sure that was one of the spambots cycling through all their banned accounts to try to find one that hadn't been locked out.
