Trainspotting - a well adapted portrayal of one of the books by my favorite author, Irvine Welsh with solid, on par acting and good directing.

Shawshank Redemption - There's no description necessary, just see it, damn you.

Lord of War - Although, it may have recieved sub par ratings in the box office, I rather enjoyed Nicholas Cage's performance as an arms dealer and found the plot the unraveled around him to be quite interesting. Even though Jared Leto's kind of an elitist prick, he's a good actor, and played the **** up brother quite well. I highly recommend this flick.

I have to disagree with all the high regard for the two new Pirates. Both of those movies were visual eye candy and that's truly it. The character development they made in the original was completely gone in a confusing and eventually unsatisfying plot.

Spiderman 3 was extremely irritating. From Christmas of '06 I was waiting; waiting for it to come out. The only good part was any clip that was in the trailer...

Cogito, nope :) Way too cheesy.

Albatross, I agree in regards to the Shawshank Redemption, that's an incredible movie. I recently bought it but I can't make myself watch it again, it's so sad.

I keep getting told to see Lord of War but I still haven't, I just don't think I'll enjoy it.

Lord of War is one of those movies that I approach extremely apprehensively and find myself wrapped into the deep, involving story. Also, the acting on Cage's part was truly fantastic.

If you don't want to spend the four (or five) bucks on a rental there's always those illegal websites XD

Wow, excellent taste and opinions! :)

I can't say I really liked Lord of War, though - it was just a B-grade movie that I'll never see again. Leto was great in Requiem for a Dream, which in itself is an amazing movie. It also stars Jennifer Connelly, my favourite actress. She's also quite nice on the eyes. ;)

You're not kidding about Connelly. As far as pleasing on the eyes... Johansson takes the cake. But Johansson lacks what Connelly doesn't...acting skills.

    :-D I'm a dirty pervert.

I'm new to this forum; so, I'm curious, is swearing discouraged? Because I swear like a sailor, let me tell you.

Requiem for a Dream was incredible, but so ridiculously depressing. I don't think I could ever see it again, it's too awful. Still, amazingly done, it really opens your eyes. The soundtrack is great, too.

And yes, swearing is automatically censored :)

    I loved Die Hard 4.

Hot Fuzz took it to new comedic levels with that shoot-out. :p

Hell yeah! I think Simon Pegg has some real talent.

    Watchmen Movie

Wether you like it or not, this movie is actually coming out. I found these...

Nite Owl looks...odd. But Rorschach and The Comedian look spot on. I'm still not sure Watchmen is filmable but looks like I'm about to find out...

Adrien Veidt looks kinda creepy. I mean, that looks like something a Goa'uld would wear...

his expression is a bit dull though. Guess that's what happens when you have more money than God, twice over.
