Exactly I find them very pouintless. In a sense its just like having a crappy version of a website.

Well I'll stick with my website.

But I still cannot fathom why these things are so darned popular.

Ok Mobile phones and email are a little different literally.

    Ha they is gone.

I think by ignoring them I have successfully achieved something wonderful. I sat watching the TV all night and jericho was worth the watch. I think they tried talking to me but Lily said i just ignored them. Funny thing is I never heard them saying a word. I guess one can get lost in TV.

I'm not sure we have really. Myspace has little or no point. Nor does this conversation. They seem to go hand in hand :p

I used to have a MySpace, about three years ago. It's still out there somewhere, because I don't know how to delete it. I'm pretty technologically illiterate. I had it because 'all my friends had one.'

I dont have one anymore because it's lame and can get a little disgusting at what some people will actually post. It was also extremely dangerous -anyone could see you! I think they have those protected accounts now, but they didn't back when I had one. I got quite a few requests a day from strangers.

I even had one guy say that he met me through my best friend's boyfriend, and I just didn't remember because I was high! (This was back when I did that a lot.) I said sure, okay, because he lived in the same (very small! Population 500 tops) town as her boyfriend. Later, he confessed that he'd never met me.

I left that day and will never get on it again. It was a horrible experience for me.

I use a facebook now, with a protected account, to keep in touch with a lot of my friends who have moved away or have gone to college, etc, and I refuse to give away any personal information. I will never ever ever go back to MySpace.

Occasionally I'll check in on a band's MySpace, if that is their primary website, but that's it.

I think it is pretty disgusting really. I thought at first to give it a go until I received an message on there that was quite repulsive. Now I just try and get my account deleted. 15 times I have requested my account to be deleted and still it remains.

That alone says alot about a site or wastedspace as Cogito puts it. Facebook isn't much better either Banzai. Sorry but it isn't. They just habor pedafiles, perverts and sickos. Nothing more. It makes their lives easier to encourage impressionable minds onto one site to have a good old perve on there.

Guys, you're acting like Myspace is the devil or something. There are as many perverts on Myspace as there is Facebook, and Facebook they're more locallised! Sure, you can keep your facebook profile private, but you can do that with Myspace too.

Torana: One bad message doesn't make a bad website. I respect your decision to hate all over myspace, but you must surely be able to respect that it does alot of good in keeping people in touch. It sure did for me, anyway. It is far more than just a place where sick little men and women hang out. In fact, I'd say that those people make up a tiny minority of myspace users :)

I don't consider MySpace evil. However, what I have seen of it has had a disproportionate number of - unsavory persons. I don't claim Facebook is any better or worse. But MySpace is like standing water in a neglected birdbath - it is a perfect breeding ground for pests and parasites. Sure, it has its beneficial uses, but it doesn't do much to discourage the lowest elements from calling it home.
