Wyndii I struggled against the slime, my brother yowling in disgust as he pulled himself out of the much when Dean ran into the room with a sword. "That's it," he growled, "Spirit-Sheild Rise!" Suddenly it was as if twin black holes had opened up directly behind me and Cole, revealing how much we had grown since out last encounter with Skadi. The ninjas near us simply de-materialized as we walked closer to Skadi, eyes glowing. Magic could not harm us now, it would only increase our strength. Crystals burst up out of the floor at random now, and i focused my energy to make one burst up around Skadi, encasing her in it to drain her of her magic power. "The magic Council created us to stop riots amongst mages should a war break out -and you were one of the many who donated cells to our creation Skadi." I said lowly, my hands sparking. "I do not wish to kill you -though i cannot say the same for my brother. Leave now and i won't have to let IT take over and kill everyone." The threat was not idle, for a dark magic suddenly surged beneath my skin as the beast within me roared for release. "One more soul... and i can't go back to trying to be what i want to be -but will be forced to be what i was made to be..." i murmured, a glaze coming over my eyes.
Fight time! "Oh, puh-lease", Skadi snapped. "My warriors are not made of magic, they are made of negative energy that I have harnessed. I am an ancient witch, older than even your headmistress. And with this sword I only get more powerful the more you fight me. Do you really think I am scared of some freak experiments gone wrong? HA!" As she spoke the Shadow Ninja's gathered around Wyndii and Cole and Dean and the others. They jabbed and slashed with their weapons, keeping them back. Skadi lashed out with her snake whip over her head. "Didn't think I came unprepared, did you", Skadi said in a flat, cold voice. "This snake's venom was specially bioengineered to kill G.A.I.A. It contains nanobots with only one purpose--to eat your flesh until you are gone and your body won't be able to adapt to it. So why don't you get just a little closer, little freak..." Your turn!
Wydnii Little freak. Again with that nickname. "Always be what i was made to be... not what i want to be..." i said, remembering how the students at the other school had always made fun of me, calling me "little freak." I didn't even wince at the sight of the whip that could kill me with one blow, just stared at Skadi with a blank look. Cole however, heard about the nanobots and hissed, giving me one glance. "Sorry sis -but I guess I'm carrier now." he said, dissapearing in a blast of smoke. The presence of my other siblings all vanished as well -Cole had teleported to the outside world. I was alone. "He's loose now... and he wouldn't have revived if you hadn't come..." i said dimly, looking at the spot where he had stood. "And if you think i need to adapt to escape the poison in that whip -you're wrong Skadi. Doctor Gerund made me weaker than the others on purpose. To make me unkillable -and thus make my brothers and sisters unkillable. You may destroy my body, but i will simply create a new one. That is the process of a G.A.I.A's life -be born over and over again when we die..." I shivered, and when a ninja came at me it burst apart like smoke -just gone. It was, and then it wasn't. Gone. The others saw that and backed away warilly, unsure of what was happening. "Why... why can't i just dissapear...?" i gritted out, covering my face with my hands as the air around me began to vibrate. Then the glowing tattoos on my body changed color, turning from neon blue to crimson. When my hands came away from my face, my pupils had dilated to pinpoints, and a low rattling sound came from my throat as my body buckled and changed. The beast took over completely -and I silently fell into darkness, an unearhtly howl erupting from the room. The beast looked at Skadi and grinned, mad eyes glinting. "Looking for me?"
Fight time! Skadi's face was as blank as ever, but her black eyes glinted with dark glee. "You fail to comprehend, freak-of-nature", she said flatly. "The angrier you get, the more negative vibes you send out, the more powerful I get..." Skadi pointed her sword at Wyndii and incanted, "Raven's cry, echoed woes/Ghasts and ghouls, black-bark willow/By the name of powers old and new/I command the Darkness to rip, tear, and bleed you!" The runes on the sword swirled faster and a ball of nega-energy crackling with red lightning shot from the tip. The ball of nega-energy struck the floor and erupted into a six-foot column of Darkness and lightning and freezing cold winds. From the explosion came a three-headed dog made of shadows with all-white eyes that glowed like beacons. The faces of tortured souls swirled over the skin of the creature and when the dog's heads looked at Wyndii it's huge muscles rippled and bulged. It made no sound, only circled Wyndii and exuded an aura of menace. "You cannot defeat that which feeds on your inner turmoil", Skadi said with the hint of a grin. The more Wyndii got angry and the more she resisted her, the more powerful Skadi's dark servants would become. "His name is Cerberus", Skadi added nonchalantly as the hulking dog pounced. Meanwhile, the small army of Shadow Ninja continued to attack the students. Your turn!
Dean Even in the prescence of the G.A.I.G.A and the old woman. I still knew I was no weakling. The ninjas attacked me, I sliced one of the six ninjas. He dissapeared. Two punched me in the gut, I spit out blood. But then grabeed them and used my gravitational powers to blast them out of the room. The other three charged at me. One behind, one in front, one above. I threw my sword in the air hitting one. Opened a black hole under me, jumped in the air and kicked the two in and then closed the hole. I saw Wyndii freaking the fuck out. "Hey Wyndii, look it's Chris." I thought that might spark the Wyndii in her seeing as how she hated Chris. Come on Wyndii. I know you're in there.
Samantha I couldn't stay put any longer. Part of me wanted to run back through the portal and forget this whole ordeal. But part of me wanted to go help my friends. I decided on the latter. Thus, I teleported into mid-air and located Dean and what I assumed was our foe. There was black goop all over the floor. Instead of jumping in to the fight, I decided to teleport to the roof of a nearby tower. I watched from afar, analyzing. When my powers were needed, or I when I had thought up a sound plan of attack, I'd jump in.
Wydnii "Look Wyndii, it's Chris!" Dean shouted and it glanced at him for a split second while Cerebrus circled the beast. Then it turned to look back at Skadi with a fanged grin, its broken body twisting at the hips and bending as it landed on all fours. Silly human... does not know what fear is apparently... "You think i am angry human? Think i am full of negative vibes? Pah! I would make you bow if I was given my true power of the thousand souls!" it sneered, "For what is Cerberus's kindred? Plague -I am the demon Plague bound to this girl's soul. I am a simple thing -a disease. I have no emotion!" a rattling cackle erupted from its throat as it reared back, exposing gaping wounds infected by blood and pus, showing green at the edges in places. Dark, rubbery skin stretched and bones creaked, and twin bat-like wings ridled with holes snapped open as it grinned, rotted fangs glinting. "The girl known as Wyndii gives up more and more of herself to me each time i take control -that is the only fault in the human scientist's madness in his attempt to control me!" Plague sneered, opening its jaws and snarling at Cerberus, wavering from side to side as if it had rabies. Glowing green smoke rose from the floor, coating Cerberus's body as gnats swarmed to it, biting and chewing. "I am Plague! I am Suffering!" it screeched, rattling as the tear in its throat opened and closed with each breath.
Fight time! Skadi rolled her eyes. "I know how you were made, freak, I was there. But you are hopelessly out-matched here. Just give up while you still can." Even if Plague didn't realise it, he was exuding negative vibes from his acts of violence and just by his existance. It wasn't just his anger that Skadi could feed off of. Cerberus was not amused. The gnats chewed on him and digested nega-energy and died instantly. Cerberus snarled at Wyndii--or Plague--and batted her with one of his huge paws. Wyndii/Plague bashed against the front wall of the school and Cerberus leapt on top of her and started trying to tear her apart with his dagger-like teeth. One of the Ninja spotted Samantha and followed her. He climbed skillfully up to the roof of the tower and confronted her. In one hand he twirled a nunchaku expertly and in the other he jabbed with a knife. As the fight wore on Skadi's sword began to throb with the energy. Her snake whip writhed and hissed restlessly, but Skadi cooed and soothed it. "Its almost time, my pet, almost time", she whispered. Your turn!
Wydnii When Cerberus's fangs clamped down on it's throat Plague hissed, but then its eyes went wide in sudden terror. Its body shook violently and suddenly burst apart into many fragments, leaving something curled up in a tiny ball as Cerberus reared back, blinded by the light that suddenly filled the room. You have the power of a god -why don't you use it? I remembered Chris saying as i slowly stood up, my body insubstantial as my feet left the ground and i floated just in front of the massive dog. The only discernible part of me was my eyes, glowing crystal blue as my hair whipped about my face as if caught in a gale. "I realize now that i must do things that i would not like in order to become what i want to be..." i murmured softly, spreading my arms wide. Then i smiled and a small laugh escaped me as protective shields of glowing crystal rose up around Dean and Samantha -not taking energy but giving it and filling them to maximize their power. "Thanks. I couldn't have fought it off without your help Skadi." Light flooded the room, and positive energy surged beneath my skin as crystals burst out of the floor, glowing blindingly bright. I closed my eyes and felt warmth fill my body -for i had realized what i truly was unlike my siblings who always said we were meant to kill the mages. I was made to protect them. That was what Dr. Gerard had done -not made me weak, but had given me a heart that could feel emotion. Landing lightly on the floor, i walked calmly over towards Skadi, crystals growing slowly from wherever my feet touched the ground. Stopping a few yards from her, i gazed at her. "I give up." i said softly. "I will feel death's pain once so long as you leave -leave the students alone."
Dean Seeing as how I was at maximum power than ever before. I had an idea but it would be too dangerous. To have Samantha teleport evryone away while I opened uo a black hole big enough to down down the school and Skadi with it, but then again there goes the school. I thought hard while rubbing my hair. I punched my forehead trying to hink of something. But I finally did. I jumped above my crystal sheild. And walked up within five feet of Skadi as calm as possible. Showing no emotion, but still gripping my sword. "Hello." I said hoping that this would make her sword go weak, seeing as how I was calm and Wyndii was giving off positivity. I waited to see the old woman's respone.
Fight time! Skadi was shaken. Wyndii had gone through another change, from that hideous Plague demon to her own innocent self. There was no nega-energy coming off her that Skadi could use against her--no fear, no anger--just cool serenity. "I give up." Wyndii said softly. "I will feel death's pain once so long as you leave -leave the students alone." The Huntress scowled and was about to say something scathing, to make her angry, but another student walked up. He was just as calm as the GAIA freak. I can't use my sword to use darkness against them if they aren't rield up, Skadi thought moodily. But, I still have my own witchcraft and my snake... Skadi smirked at Wyndii and Dean, not showing any of her earlier worries. "I may not be able to use Darkness against such calm warriors", Skadi said coldly, "but they don't call me the Huntress for nothing." Skadi raised her sword diagonally and pointed her snake at Wyndii--the snake hissed and spat sickly yellow venom on the ground. The venom made small eep! eep! sounds and tiny glowing yellow dots swirled under the surface--the anti-GAIA nanobots. They would devour Wyndii's body if they got the chance. "Ahhh!", Skadi yelled her battle cry. Your turn!
Samantha If there was a time for me to interfere, it would be now. I spotted the shadow creature that the woman had spawned. It was coming at me with a knife and some kind of device comprised of two sticks held together by a wire. There was no time to think. I jumped into the air and teleported to the ground right below me. Making sure the creature was left behind I turned to face the fight. I ran closer as the woman held her sword higher and higher. As soon as I got in minimum range, I teleported the sword and the snake away from her. The sword was now laying on the ground in front of me. The snake I teleported as high into the air as I could, Which was about a hundred to a hundred and fifty feet. Success I thought to myself. However, in the midst of all the euphoria, I felt my breath knocked from within me. The spells had taken their toll.
Fight time! Skadi's weapons were teleported from her grip. She calmly flicked her fingers and the sword twirled through the air and the hilt smacked by into her hand, all in mere seconds. The snake fell in front of Wyndii and hissed and tried to get close enough to bite her. "You!", Skadi pointed her sword at Samantha. "That trick won't work again, this ancient weapon has charms against such magicks. I tire of this fight--no more playing games." The Huntress flipped head over heals into the air and landed beside Samantha, and kicked the girl in her side so hard she flew several feet into the air and landed with a thud. Then Skadi raised her sword high and the runes blazed and swirled even faster. All the Shadow Ninja grew more agitated and threw themselves into fighting with renewed energy. Five of them circled Samantha and tried to stab her with their weapons. "Now where was I...", Skadi said as she swiveled slowly to face Dean with a evil grin. She pounced at him and slashed her sword! Fight time!
Samantha I had never felt pain like that before. It felt as If my ribs had been crushed (and they probably were). I lay on the ground, my sight hazy due to the tears coming out of my eyes. Although, even through the tears I was able to make out the shadow creatures surrounding me. I tried to focus on a place to teleport but the pain was too much! I was done for. "I NEED HELP" I shouted, and suddenly, everything went dark.
Wyndii I ignored the snake, barely even giving it a glance as Skadi leapt at Dean and several ninjas pounced on Samantha. Wordless, i tilted my head back, spreading my arms wide as more and more positive energy filled the room. A blast of light suddenly burst up around Samantha, and a pure white creature resembling a dragon roared as it loomed up, snatching her away from the ninja's swords. It's wings spread, buffeting everyone with wind as it took off, pale blue eyes gleaming as it clutched the unconscious girl's body gingerly in its talons. "Skadi... you forgot about what exact G.A.I.A. i am..." I said calmly, as if just reminding her of something. "I don't need to use magic -I gain power from the mere presence of energy... don't you feel it...?" Suddenly a shock-wave burst out from beneath my feet, a glowing blue ring that slowly extended until all of the room glowed. It was as if everyone was in their spirit forms now -for everything throbbed and pulsed with the energy within it. And from even each speck of dust a thin tendril of power led to me, swirling and bending in a glowing aura around me. I smiled slightly at the exhilaration of it. I felt as if i was being struck by lightning thousands upon thousands of times. The snake lunged, poison dripping from its fangs, but i side-stepped away from it, moving in a wild dance to dodge it's lashing head. "I told you that i would give up Skadi...why do you hurt the others when they did no wrong to you...?" i murmured, flicking my wrist and my body shimmered for a nano-second before a black hole opened up between Skadi and Dean -keeping the huntress at bay. I was a G.A.I.A. I was the being made to fight and not lose. I would not die until they were safe. I would not give up unless Skadi promised to leave them alone.
Fight time! Skadi stumbled back away from the black hole and scowled at Wyndii. The freak girl was a huge thorn in the side--but she would tire soon if she kept doing such huge feats of magic. Even a GAIA had it's limits and this one would reach her's soon enough. It took energy to control energy, and at Wyndii's rate she would be exhausted in just a few moments. Skadi wouldn't tire as quickly, her sword did most of the work for her. The Huntress hadn't even used her own magick yet. But Wyndii's positive power was daunting, the light hurt Skadi's essence and the runes on her sword dulled and moved slower. "You mental patients will pay", Skadi spit angrily. "Attacking a member of the Magic Counsel is a serious offense! All of you will die--including you, little freak." She pointed her sword at Wyndii. "You are nothing but a failed experiment, you and your siblings. I will end you." With that Skadi slashed the air with her sword once again and, fueled by her own rage, summoned more Shadow Ninja out of shadow substance. She even conjured a few Sumo Wrestlers, Karate Panda's, and her own Dragon, made of darkness. The Dragon reared on its muscular hind legs, roared mightily and shot a stream of grey fire into the air. Then Skadi cried, "Jormungandr! Bite her!" The black snake hissed and wrapped around Wyndii's legs so fast she had no time to react. She toppled onto the ground and the snake readied to strike... Your turn!
Wyndii I looked up at the snake as it reared back, about to strike. A small smile curved the corner of my mouth and i laughed. My dragon roared and swooped down to snatch Dean up to bear them safely away and I changed the magic of it to make it survive by absorbing energy from the surrounding plants on the floating island. "Just you and me Skadi -and neither of us will make it out alive." i giggled, reaching out and a flash of bright pink appeared on my wrist -a bracelet. A similar one appeared on Skadi's wrist as well, and then i gritted my teeth as the snake's fangs found their mark. "You will feel my pain... and i will feel yours... injuries do not go to the one who feels them it... but death will.... it is a bracelet of binding....Skadi..." I whispered, my eyes glazing over in pain as the poison took effect. "You will die... but I will be reborn....why do you think we are called G.A.I.A.'s...? We are named after the goddess of rebirth and regeneration for a reason..." But even still, my instincts to survive countered those words as i whipped up, grabbing the snake and biting into it, crushing it's skull. Blood flooded my mouth, blood that was immune to the poison within me. I swallowed, and laid back limply. Time would tell...
Fight time! Skadi gasped when the pink bracelet appeared on her wrist. Then she hissed between gritted teeth as the pain took affect. "Enough!", she cried and sliced off the bracelet with a fluid movement of her sword. There was a bright flash and the bracelet was gone. "Die, lonely freak girl, die...", Skadi the Huntress said with a triumphant grin. "No...never...", a voice said from the school's front steps. There was Needfyre crawling on the ground, her skin ashy gray with exhaustion and sickness. The headmistress pulled herself up but the handle of the door and said, "You won't...hurt my...students!" She flung out her hand and a orange ball of light shot out. Skadi ducked and rolled and said, "Ha!" But the orange ball swerved and hit her in the chest. Skadi only had time to look shocked before the orange ball absorbed her body and then winked out of existence. "I sent her...to the Detention dimension", Needfyre said with a triumphant smirk. Fight over! The headmistress stumbled over to Wyndii and fell to her knees next to her student. She placed a hand over Wyndii's forehead and chanted. "Powers that be/Obey me!/Stop the mites/They have no right!/Make her fine/This girl is MINE!!!!", Needfyre incanted with anguish. Nothing happened, Wyndii kept writhing in pain. So Needfyre conjured a black dagger and sliced into her palm and into Wyndii's. She put their bleeding palms together and muttered intensely under her breath, and her eyes rolled back into her head. After a long moment, Needfyre's eyes un-rolled, but they were covered in a milky white film. Her skin was a shade paler than death and she shook violently. "It is done, I took the poison", Needfyre said in a barely audible voice. "Students, please take me inside..." And then she collapsed.
Dean All this madness was going on, yet I had still not call on the ultimate power I could have yet. I saved it. As Skadi was defeaten and the Professor was beaten and broken. I ran out the buliding and picked up Samantha. I once again pulled pout my trusty first aid kit. And healed her cuts but she had internal damage we would need the Professor to heal that once she woke up. I went back and the building and asked Samantha if she was okay as I carried her to our classroom. I looked at Wyndii and said "Get David to carry the Professor. She is an adult and he has the most body strength of all of us." I layed Samantha on a coach and rubbed her hair. "Wyndii, do you have any wounds?" I asked. I calmed the dark energy in my sword. The next time Samantha and my new friends are in trouble again. I need to react quicker.
Wydnii I didn't even register Dean's question. Die, lonely freak, die... Skadi's words echoed in my mind as i went back to Needfyre. Taking ther headmistrese's wrist, i struggled to pick her up but was forced to set her back down when my knees buckled. Fire consumed my insides as the damage from the mites continued to heal, and i gritted my teeth in anguish. She shouldn't have done this -i should have died. Why did she let me live? Die, lonely freak, die... I closed my eyes and knelt, transforming my body into that of a creature that only i could describe as a "Void Reaver". It was similar to a dragon but instead of wings and forelegs it had cone-shaped lances. Scooping up Needfyre gingerly i used what little strength i had left to teleport us to the common room to lay her on the couch. Shaking, i reverted back to my human form and barely made it to a corner in the room before i too collapsed. Junior.... get David in here with Kyre.... I told the demon sword weakly using telepathy, then closed my eyes. I wasn't unconcious, just resting. Just feeling the air flow in and out of my lungs... Die, lonely freak, die... Doubt began to make itself a home in my mind.
Needfyre Needfyre overheard Wyndii's telepathic message. Her milky-white eyes fluttered open and she said, "The teachers won't help you. They are all in hiding." Then Needfyre beckoned for all the students to come closer so they could hear her. "Haven't you ever wondered where those other teachers came from? I came to this island alone, yet four other teachers staff this school...four other teachers with four elements. They are my Powers. I split them from myself to help me run this place...and I need them back to heal, or the mites will eat me alive. I can already feel them...inside me..." Needfyre shivered and shakes wracked her body. "All of you--must--fight the teachers! Beat them in battle and my Powers will fly back to me--then I can heal!" She closed her eyes and mumbled under her breath. "Beat them in battle...the harpy is Air, Kyre is Fire, Ms Wintour is Water, and Ezekiel is Earth...fight them in that order and I will be restored...work...together..." Then she went quiet.
Wyndii Air. Fire. Earth. Water. Standing up, I placed my hand over Needfyre's. Closing my eyes, I felt a small ammount of power drain from me into her. "I'm immune to the mites now, so that might hold them off for a bit longer." I murmured, walking to the door. My jaw was clenched in anger -how could the Magic Council do such a thing? Why were the mites damaging Needfyre when they had been desighned to devour my flesh? It was wrong. It was wrong! Cole -where are you? I asked for my brother, who had escaped to the outside world. A feeling of triumph and smugness came from his end. The Magic Council just lost something very precious indeed sister -I got a present for ya. He responded, and i gasped as a wave of knowledge -words- flooded my mind. He had burned the Council's vault of Forbidden Spells and had memorized all of the books before destroying them. I trembled violently, feeling the ancient spells whispering in my mind -luring me into their depths of power. A slow smile curved my lips, Keep safe, brother. I replied, then cut off the mind-link as the image of my brother flying away as a bird in disguise came to me. The Magic Council would not catch him. He was the Raging Sun, and like a beam of light he could go from one place to the next in an instant. Heh, freak indeed Skadi -but who isn't in the detention realm? "Guys, let's go to the gym first." I said, walking out the door.
Dean The order is Air, Fire, Water, Earth. I looked at how badly Samantha was beaten, and how Frank had a broken rib. "Wyndii heal Samantha. We all have to beat different people. But in a certain order. I can see if I can take on the Harpy, by myself. While you heal Sammy. I can probably take her down. David would probably be best to take down Ezekial. You should probably take Kyre. And as for the hot teacher, I don't know." I stood up. I need you to care for those two. I will go after the harpy.
David walked in the room for important reasons. "Hey guys you'll never guess what happened?" David nodded happily "While you guys were fighting those mean people. I found 3 pennies, which means 3 times as much good luck!" He shouted happily (BUFOON!) Junior stated in sigh
Wyndii "Needfyre told us to work together -but i can see your point Dean. We will all go after the harpy first." I said, glancing at Samantha, who was laying unconscious on another couch. Striding over to her, i placed a hand gently on her side and stiffened as the Forbidden spells surged upwards from within me, begging to be used. I sighed in resignation and picked one out of the many -a spell that could heal injuries that were even many years old. This would strengthen Samantha's bones so that she couldn't fall to a similar injury so easily again. "Child of darkness, child of light/ Make this one well so she can fight./ Child of Darkness, Child of Pain/ Draw away your talons so she can rise again!" I sang, feeling a strange energy wreath around me like mist, flowing over and into Samantha. A rune glowed on the back of my hand, but i paid little attention to it as i marveled at how little energy i was expending to heal her. Was this the power of the Forbidden spells? Pulling my hand away, i looked at it. Tendrils of power still leaked from my fingers, but they eventually faded away. I looked at Samantha -she appeared as if nothing had happened. As if time had simply been reversed to the place before she had been injured. Time Arc... The spell whispered its name in my ear.
