Fight time! "Don't under-estimate the fire sprites, Dean...", Kyre warned with a smirk. Dean's hand burned from hitting the fire sprite. Now the little thing was angry. It growled and vibrated like a little timebomb and all the other sprites did the same. Then they started zipping around the room at maximum speed, banging into anything that was in their way and tearing at the students with burning hot hands and teeth. Kyre leaned back in midair and blew smoke over his head. The glittery black smoke formed into an umbrella that hovered over him, as if he were just relaxing on the beach. Your turn!
Wyndii "Dean there's no use reasoning with him -but i'll bet after Needfyre's better she'll probably re-make them anyways!" I shouted and ducked as the fire sprite that had been after me dove for my head. I smiled slightly as i realized something. Water, lack of air, and earth all made fire go out. I just had to figure out which one would work on Kyre. "Rising waters come to my side/ fill this room with mist so fine / Rising waters come to my side /swamp this room with a rising tide!" I sang, and the moisture from the earth and pools of water around the school all came rushing towards the room to fill it. I twisted my hands and made bubbles of air go over everyone's heads so they could breathe, and grinned as i noticed that the water was not water -it was just a very thick mist that could put out fire. We could still move without being hampered. "Crystals grow faster in water, Kyre. Watch out!" I giggled and watched as jagged spears of rock burs tout of the walls, roof and floor, aiming for the fire sprite's and Kyre.
Fight time! Kyre chuckled. His fire sprites coughed and sneezed as the mist rose and fled from the room through the slit between the locked sliding doors. Now it was just Kyre and the students. "Physical attacks? Really, Wyndii?", Kyre said, eyebrows raised. "Tsk tsk. I thought I'd taught you all better than that. I'm a spirit, the essence of who I am, not my physical body--which you won't find because I hid it so well." He smirked and put his hands behind his head. "Try again, kiddos!" Wyndii's jagged crystal spears pierced right through his intangible spirit and the mist didn't even get near him. The heat he radiated kept it at bay. Kyre yawned lazily and his aura blazed so intensely it was hard to look at him. The crystals around him cracked with glowing red fissure and burst into shards that dropped onto the floor. Fight time!
Dean I dropped on the ceiling and rolled until my arm went out. Then once the sprites started to fly around I turned into darkness so they could not hit me. I watched as Wyndii's attacks were usless and I thought to myself. I don't fucking know how to fight with spirit. For me I didn't really learn how to use it. But, I thought of something else. Kyre's body. It has to be around here somewhere. "Wyndii. I don't know how to fight using spirit. But I do know that, Kyre's body has to be somewhere." I dropped to the ground and used my force to blast a whole in the wall of the room, going into the hallway. Allwoing for a bigger fighting area. I began to run down the hallway toward sthe room where the Professor was. I had an idea.
Fight time! Kyre let Dean go, thinking he was running away in fear. "You're free to join him, you can't possibly beat my Spirit Form", Kyre chuckled. He did a little salute and a orb of fire energy blasted into the midst and exploded. Red sparks whizzed through the air, swirling in little circles and making highpitched keening sounds. As the sparks pased through their spirits they felt stabbing sensations and their whole bodies vibrated with pain. Kyre was only using magic, fire magic, but in spirit form. It was just like using magic in a body, but he was more experienced. Kyre yawned. "You kids aren't that fun, are you? Its shocking that you beat my sister Orchidia--you're so...tame." He smirked. your turn!
Dean I left to go find the Professor. I ran into a room where Samantha laid and the Professor sat. "Professor, you can sense your parts; the teachers. Right? If you can tell me where Kyre's body is. If I can find it I can destroy it. I don't know what it will do to him, but it has to do something." I looked at the Professor stairing her in the eyes. I also thought back to Kyre's comment. It wasn't very nice to call us boring, now was it?
Wydnii "Tame?" I muttered lowly, and couldn't help but reveal a savage smile, my eyes flashing dangerously as my spirit coalesced into one mass. "You're talking to a G.A.I.A. Kyre; you might want to watch your tongue." Suddenly a shock-wave reverberated through the room, and in a burst of blood-red fire Cole appeared beside me, black eyes glinting. Then the floor rumbled and a stone golem burst out of it, the only even remotely alive part of it it's eyes, which were black as coal. "Looks like you revived Dole, Cole." I said, and Cole grinned, his spirit blazing as Dole's soul emanated the power of the earth itself. "Yeah; but we haven't been able to get the Doc's notes yet from the Council Chambers. We'll need Myndii and Syndii for that." Cole said, then turned his gaze on Kyre with a curled lip. "Tch -you may be fire in every aspect, and i respect your choice in that matter Kyre, but we need Needfyre for our plans to go off without a hitch, so let me show you the power of the G.A.I.A brothers." Cole sneered, taking a step back as Dole walked over and their spirits overlapped. The stone golem melted with the heat of Cole's blazing soul, and as they merged Cadole rose up as a lava elemental. "Fire against fire, this should be interesting . . . Wyndii, you know what to do." Cadole said, his voice not one but two people speaking. I nodded and stepped back, my blue spirit pulsing as i crossed my hands over my chest and sent a low hum through the room. Suddenly pressure seemed to fill it, and I heard Cadole laugh. "She's sealed the room now, Kyre. Only one of us can come out alive!" Then Cadole attacked, sending a tidal wave of lava at Kyre's spirit.
Fight time! Kyre didn't flinch. His grin widened and his black eyes glittered with mischief behind his rose colored glasses. "Sorry to inform you, Wyndii, but we are all the same in spirit form", Kyre said as he slowly rose to a standing position. Red cinders swirled around him and the smell of cinnamon and woodsmoke intensified, it was hard to look at him directly. "GAIA or not, your spirit is as special as anyone's. al yuo carry with you when you Astral Project is your true self, your soul, and your natural talents. But...it does intrigue me that you think two fires will make this situation any better." He gave Cadole a snarky grin. "Well, let us begin, shall we?" Kyre spun in a circle and flaming red daggers flew in every direction! The daggers were connected to glowing orange chains that were rooted in the flaming molten core of Kyre's spirit. A dagger stabbed into every student in the room and sent a spasm of pain through their spirits--even Cadole. The chains began to wrench the studnets closer to Kyre and he conjured a flaming sword out of thin air that was longer than his body with a dark crimson dragon-eye on the crossguard handle. "Come n' get it!", Kyre said, laughing maniacally. He meant business! Your turn! Back in the sitting room, Needfyre looked up at Dean with her glazed eyes. She looked slightly better, she wasn't shaking anymore, but clear tunnels could been seen under the skin of her face and arms--the nanobots were eating her alive. "Air is with me...I need Fire next...", Needfyre murmured, her voice weak and raspy. "I cannot sense his body when his soul is not inside it. But it would be near him...somwhere he can protect it. Now...go." Needfyre sighed and fell back onto the sofa.
Wydnii I gasped as the dagger stabbed into my spirit, sending pain lancing through my body like lightning. Cadole Crouched and yanked against his chain, roaring in anger, but he couldn't break it. Mindless with rag,e he charged at Kyre, conjuring a mace and chain of his own and swinging at Kyre's head. I however stood steadfast, feeling the chain pulling me inevitably closer to Kyre. I smiled then as a whisper echoed in my mind. Time Arc . . . "I call upon the days of age/ bring the body back to the sage! /reverse the time that has begun /bring him back to the original one!" I cried, and magic pulsed through my body as a black bolt went from me to Kyre, chaining us together just as his own chain connected me to him. But that was only the first effect. Even as i stood there, holding him in place, time began to move backwards on his body, making it as if he had never had the sword, reversing to the time when his spirit left his body. I was aiming to force his weakness out into the open.
Fight time! Kyre swatted Cadole's mace out of his hands with a casual flick of his flaming sword. Then he said, "Pyro", and a roaring jet of flame slammed him to the floor. "Do not presume to beat me in a battle of swordsplay", Kyre said in a serious tone. "Fire is the element of defense. The dragon will always win..." The dragon-eye on his sword blazed. Then Wyndii's spell hit him and his face scrunched in pain. He felt reality warp around him and his sword fizzle out in a shower of cinders. As time reversed he gave Wyndii a wry look and said, "Do you know what you're doing? Reversing time, bending reality, takes an enormous amount of energy. Are you up to it?" Wyndii could feel all her energy pouring into the spell like a bottomless pit, an Abyss. Was it really worth it? Your turn!
Dean I heard the Professor words. If it is near him it has to be in the room, right? My spirit flew back to the room as fast as it could seeing as ow I never got back inside my own body, I floated into the room to see Kyre frozen in place. I then used my gravitational push to try and send him flying threw a wall with the force of a recking ball. After I did that wether it hit him or not I had another plan. I used my gravitational powers to make everything in the room fall towards the ceiling, besides our bodies that is. Everything floated toward the ceiling, I was hoping to see Kyre's body.
Wyndii Cadole screeched and dissapeared in a shower of sparks; too damaged to continue fighting without risking his new body. I gritted my teeth and kept going with the spell, sweat trickling down my brow. I smiled grimly. "Usually this spell can't even affect a living being, Kyre. But you have something of mine on your physical body." i gritted out, my spirit wavering like a candle flame under the rain. "Thus i can do whatever i want to your state in time -send you to the future or back to the past." I spread my feet on the ground, bracing myself as my eyes glowed blindingly bright. Steam began to rise up from the floor as jagged crystals burst up from around Kyre. And my smile widened. "Know why i lose control sometimes Kyre? It's because i absorb the presence of magic and use it against you. So I can take some of your energy to fuel my own spell!" I shouted, one large crystal bursting up from the floor directly below Kyre and completely encasing him in the glowing blue stone. "Time arc!" I screamed.
Fight time! Kyre grunted as Wyndii's crystal drained him and she continued Time Arc at once. His spirit flickered inside the crystal and red sparks shot in every direction, stinging Wyndii and anybody else too close. Kyre stretched out his arms and slowly pulled himself out of the crystal. His top half was out when Dean used gravity to pull up everythign in the room. There was barely any furniture except for the desk, a stool, chalk bits and a sitting pillow. But there was a banging sound under the floorboards--something was trying to go up. It was his body, under the floorboards. "Grrraaahhh!", Kyre said. He was pulling himself out of the crystal and resisting the Time Arc with all his might. They had to act before he got out. Your turn!
Dean I watched as the struggle between teacher and student unfolded and I realized that Kyre's body was no where on the ceiling. I was pissed at first, then I heard a sound coming from somewhere. Sound like in front of me but below. I followed the sound to the ground about 2 feet away from Kyre inside of Wyndii's crystal and I bust through the floor. I then jump down there and hold up my hand, ready to use enough impact on Kyre's body to blow it to bits. I hold my hand back. "Hope I'm ready for this."
Wyndii I looked where Dean heasitated, barely able to keep my arms up as my strength began to fade. "Just do it already! I can't hold him much longer!" i screamed, trembling violently as Time Arc began to take it's tole, and i shuddered as glowing runes began to appear on my body one by one, spreading up my arms. Whispering filled my mind, and i shook with unspeakable terror as memeories of others filled my mind, memories of those who had been lost to time. If Dean didn't do it now, i might not live from this.
Dean I looked around seeing all the chaos. When I wasn't having an outburst I wasn't okay with the spilling of human blood for no reason. I held back my hand about to use impact on the face of my former teacher. I threw my fist foward to hit K straight in the face. "Oh well."
Fight time! Kyre was struggling out of the huge crystal and only one leg was still trapped inside. Red sparks exploded everywhere and the crystal was covered in glowing crimson cracks. The sharp smell of cinnamon and woodsmoke had returned and the whole room glowed red and the temperature was rising. Kyr'es dark eyes, dark as charcoal, were fixed on Wyndii as he struggled against Time Arc. Then Dean hit his body! Kyre's entire expression changed to one of shock and the room returned to normal. "You actually beat me...", Kyre said. His body dissolved into dark ashes and cinders and his spirit changed into a floating fireball trailing gold sparkles. "Good job, my students. I only wanted you to learn and get stronger, and it seems you have surpassed me in power. I am proud of you all." He started chuckling and then the fireball flew toward the wall and burned a hole through it--going right back to Needfyre. Fight over! Air and Fire were down. Now they needed to get Water.
Wyndii I gasped or breath and dropped to the ground, panting heavily. Sweat dripped from my brow to the floor in soft plinks, and my body trembled convulsively for several seconds before i regained some sense of strength -if only physical. "Damn . . . Dean you can't . . . hesitate when things like that . . happen . . " I panted, "If you do . . . it may cost you . . . your life . . ." I closed my eyes as i remembered how all of my siblings had destroyed their first bodies to get me out of the labs, making the Magic council believe that the least threatening G.A.I.A was alive and that they didn't need to chase me so quickly. My after-image appeared and looked fretfully at me from where she sat on her haunches in front of me, invisible to all but myself and -I had noticed- Needfyre. Gritting my teeth, i remarked they had in fact only let loose the one who could revive all of the others much quicker than normal despite my weaknesses in battle. I was really meant to support other mages -namely my siblings- but as of late i had been forced into lethal combat one too many times. Jeez sis, looks like your not as wimpy as i thought. Cole said suddenly through our telepathic link, remarking on the memories he had seen through my mind of the battle. Oh well, guess what? While that was going on I managed to get into the high council chambers and burn up the doc's notes. They didn't seem to have been able to decode them, so thankfully no one will know of our one weakness. I nodded slightly and raised one hand, and the crystal -covered in the ashes of Kyre's body, hovered over to me. The sun and moon were halfway overlapped now. Just two more to go and we would all be revived.
They regrouped and headed for Ms Wintour's chambers. Her door was a silky blue curtain with silver stars and they pushed it aside to find the tiny Oracle lady sitting on a Gothik rosewood throne surrounded by flickering candles and incense burners. Her highly makeupped old face gazed down her nose at them and said, "So...you've come to kill me. I knew you were coming, it was Prophesied, by me. But you have to catch me first!" She hopped down from her high throne and sprinted for a back door--and tripped over a votive candler. She fell flat on her face and groaned as she turned to glare bleekly at the students. "Ugh, I guess you caught me", Ms Wintour pouted. "But before you take me, hear this! You are all Prophesied to DIE!! The Magic Council will not take your insolence hands-down--they will come, one by one, to destroy this school. There is a chance, a very VERY slight chance, you will defeat the Council members, even though they are the most powerful sorcerers to ever walk the earth. But even if you do defeat them, you could never defeat their leader, Moira. Some people say she's even the first ever Wytche, made immortal by an ancient spell. She will eat you all." Wintour's voice was rumbling and deep and echoey, like several people talking at once. Her eyes glowed dark blue and the room changed to seagreen and everything seemed dreamy and floaty. Then Ms Wintour simply turned into a ball of blue light that shot out the room back to Needfyre. Next was the last element, Mr Ezekiel. They had to go back to the tunnels...
Dean White As we went into the room and saw the holder of the next element. She seemed very relaxed and she started talking a whole bunch of crazy gibberis. She began to run but she fell on her face. She must also be clumsy, though she didn't seem like such a threat. She began to talk about the Magic Council. I never though about taking them down. Why would they want to destory Mystik. And why bother us? We are only students. The only one that has a reason to be hunted is Wyndii. I mean we beat that one hag but she was still in the boundaries of the school staff right? Even if she was part of the Council, but I don't really remember. Her eyes glew an she kept talking and then turned into a blue light then dissapeared by flying out the room. "She was easy. One more to go. I think Junior and David would be the best to battle an Earth elemental."
Mr Ezekiel They went down, down, down to the tunnels. They followed the same route as before, but somehow couldn't find Mr Ezekiel's office. They decided to retrace their stepps, but the tunnels had rearranged themselves and they were stuck in a earthen chamber with no exits. A single glowing green mushroom in the centre of the room cast sharp emerald light on everything. Suddenly there came a scrabbling at the wall and dirt and pebbles rained down. A huge hole opened and a huge crimson red fox emerged. His teeth were like daggers and his eyes were shiny buttery yellow. His huge bushy tail wiped the wall behind him and it became a solid smooth wall once again. "Don't recognise me?", the Fox said in a raspy old voice, like a staticky walky-talky. It was Ezekiel's voice. Without any warning he bounded into the midst of the students and they all stumbled and fell from the impact. Ezekiel the Fox howled and the green mushroom glowed more brightly. Then the Fox started to slobber rivulets of foamy saliva and his hungry gold eyes gazed at the students. "Who will be my first meal...?", he rasped.
Wyndii I snarled and shape shifted, immediately adapting to the threat before me. Changing from a young human girl into a cross between a small wolf and a porcupine, i made my spines stand up on end and curled my lip in a ferocious snarl, my neon blue eyes glowing as my claws extended and may tail swished through the air. Remembering what had happened in this place before, i circled the fox warily, trying to calculate whether the foam coming from his mouth was the same as what the moles had, or whether it was different. I gritted my teeth and a frustrated growl came from me. Needfyre needed us. I needed to kill him, now. But i was still weak from the fight with Kyre. I would need to be cautious -conserved my energy until i had recharged. One small crystal poked up from the earth near the mushroom, hidden. I just needed a few minutes. A wry smile curled my muzzle, "You know, Ezekiel, you sound a lot like one of the ideal candidates for the world I was created for. Doctor Gerald was once a student here -bookworm type who kept a lot of notes. I found a scrap of one of his notebooks in these very shelves. Maybe you gave him all of the ideas for that world in a sense . . ." I prayed he would take the bait and talk. Then maybe i could stall for time. Time, wasn't that what got me in this predicament in the first place? I thought ruefully.
Fight time! Ezekiel cocked his enormous furry head at Wyndii. She interested him, vaguely. His Fox brain wanted to sniff her and gobble her up just to see what such a strange thing tasted like. But his human side said instead, "You are trying to distract me with chit-chat. Do you think me so naive? I am older than you by centuries. Don't test my wits, odd mutant child." Then the Fox swiped his huge paw at Wyndii, claws extended... Your turn!
Wyndii I jumped back to avoid Ezekiel's claws, just feeling them swish past the tip of my nose. My eyes narrowed and i contemplated how to handle this creature, a predator in its own right . . . "Adapt!" I growled, and my body boiled beneath my skin, crouching, a low growl rumbling in my chest as i transformed again. A wicked grin came to my face as my fur and spines were replaced by scales and leathery wings, my tail whacking the ground with a heavy thud and my roar making the room shake. "Can you harm something that your fangs can't puncture?" i rumbled, my body settling into the serpentine curves and angles of a young dragon. My teeth gleamed in the green light that the mushroom gave off, and the crystal beneath it grew just a tad more. Predator for predator, now he had awakened the beast within me. "Let's see who is at the top of this food chain small fry!" i roared and blew a pillar of white fire at him. I was using the same tactics as Kyre had -the ultimate means for defense. Dragon armor and dragon fire. But i was not weak like Kyre had been -I was not outside of my true body, i was still within it.
