When I saw about it on your link, I registered. (On the same name as I have here.) But Nov. is going to be kinda a bad month for me...
I'm participating. I think it will be good for me, since I have a habit of trying to make everything absolutely perfect the first time, which ends up frustrating me and causing me to give up. I just wish I could start writing now. I have all these ideas straining to get out.
I just dont have the time to do it because Im too dang busy getting my current stuff ready for submitting. ARGH..I would love to though!
I agree. I wish I had the time. Gutted. Once Christmas has passed I'll have sometime to myself again Yaaaaye. lol I too would love to as well. ~Raven.
I really wish I could participate in this. Unfortunately, I have a ton of work I need to do. I'll see how much writing I can get done, but I doubt I'll make it on time, even if I right completely random stuff.
So after having written a 50k+ novel last November and finding it to be beyond editable (and nearly unreadable despite what I still think is an entertaining and salvageable story), I decided to prepare for Novel Writing Month with some research and an outline, etc. Anyone else preparing for the Write-mageddon that is NaNoWriMo 2013?
Yup. I wrote for NaNo last year, and the manuscript is now in its third draft. It looks quite good, and definitely readable. This year, I'm writing a fantasy, but with an unusual twist - I know everybody says that, but I really believe it, at least in mainstream fiction terms. I'm guessing it'll be more than one book, but I'm just going to write the entire thing and see if it needs splitting up later. What about you?
I'm participating again this year! Picking up where last year's novel left off. My name on NaNo is also "Graphospasm" if anyone wants to expand their buddy list.
This year may be the first year I participate in NaNo. I've never really given it a thought before, but I feel like I need something to clear out the old pipes.
Hey great! I added you to my buddys, Grapho. For anyone who wants to add me my handle is GabrielH. I chose historical fiction this year. I will be writing a combination of historic fact and genealogical anecdote from my family into what I hope to be intrigue and mystery... also I'm planning some twists. Of course with NaNoWriMo, some things should be left to the imagination! (until they come out through the fingertips, that is)
Wait, so there's a whole signing up process, right? Hmm... I think this is what put me off in years past.
I've never done NaNoWriMo before (though I did sign up), but I did a Script Frenzy one year. I kind of hated it, because I learned that I hate the screenplay format, but I still love the idea I had. I'm thinking of rewriting my screenplay as my NaNoWriMo project this year. I've actually thought of doing that for the last two or three NaNoWriMos, but never got around to it. NaNoWriMo is the antithesis of the way I normally work - it demands that you just pour out the stuff with practically no editing, because of the time constraints, but it might be kinda fun. I'd have to average 1,700 words per day, and I'm not sure I can manage that, because it looks like November might be a busy month IRL for me.
Signing up is really easy, just go to nanowrimo.org and make yourself a page. The site is interactive and I found it helpful in cranking out a draft.
You know, it's funny, Min. In conversations past I've formed the idea that you and I, as mods, are a good representation of Pantser v. Planner, but more and more, I get the impression that if we sat down and really looked at each other's method, each of us might be surprised at the similarities in the other.
I really want to... But it is a considerable investment of time and energy, and I want to enter this site's Sci-fi contest too... I will probably end up putting it off, again. I signed up last year, but then everything kinda blew up in november. There was nothing left for NaNo. Oh well, maybe next year. @ChaosReigns NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write a novel of 50k+ words over the course of the month of November. There is a whole organization dedicated to it, and they organize it via their website. If you google search NaNoWriMo, you will find their website pretty quickly.
National Novel Writing Month. The idea is that you write a novel of at least 50,000 words during the month of November. Check out nanowrimo.org for details.
I'll be participating again this year. Last year I started my Novel and this year I plan on finishing it during the month. The sooner I get this over with the sooner I can try to self publish within the next year. (Or try to actually publish it and Hang the rejection letters on my wall) 50k words not having to worry about my cheesiness is all I need XD... We should all add each other on the website.
