Hey, they's what us outliners are doing to I asked Charlie if she wanted to be one thing, and she told me she wanted to be another thing.
My character used to tell me what to do, but his demands became too vociferous. We battled each other on almost every plot point. One day, when I sat down at my desk, he said "if you stole some money, you could quit your job and we could spend all day together." At this point I knew I had to kill him off, but he did not go down easily, he stabbed in my hand with my own pen.
(One of the reasons why I like this forum is that you people often make me laugh out loud!) I'm not that drastic that I have to kill them off. When minors character start growing beyond their intended role I usually tell them to be patient and one day they'll have a sequel all to themselves. That usually quiets them down.
