Apple just unveiled their new products including a 160 Gig ipod and an touchscreen ipod that has wi-fi capabilities. It's amazing. Apple - iPod - Which iPod are you? - compare the products. Apple - New products on the homepage. Thoughts? I'm so excited!
160gb? Who has that much music? My hard drive is only 100gb, and that's about half full. If you ask me, this has gotten past the pointless stage really...
I don't have an ipod, want one though...next year they are just gonna come out with an even cooler one i bet...lol
I'm hoping to get the 80 Gig classic in black for my birthday (Which is on monday.) Right now I have a 4Gig Nano, and it doesn't hold nearly enough. Our iTunes holds roughly 10,000 songs right now, and it grows everyday because I am a music freak. (Dont worry, its not all mine, its the whole family's.) I think I'll get it, because it's my 16th, and next to the car that I have been told is a definate NO, that's all I asked for.
I'm absolutely ecstatic about the release of the new Classic iPod and the iPod Touch, my only dilemma is that I can't decide which one to get. The draw-back to the Touch is its size, it's such a step-down from the Classic. I'd love the new features of the Touch, but it wouldn't hold all my music, movies and photos, so I'm veering towards the 80GB.
Me too! Me too! The Touch's size isn't an issue for me - it has to be big to have that nice-looking screen. My issue is the size. 8 or 16 gigs? That's not enough. I mean, it will hold all of my music, but it wouldn't hold many videos at all. I was going to get one for sure - but I think I'll wait a year until they come out with their next one. I'll be starting college around then, so I'll need the latest anyway. Moreover, I really hope they double the size options from 16 gigs to 32. I'd be happy with 32.
Sorry, that's what I meant Its capacity is too little, I think I'm going to hold out, too, and hopefully they'll release a much bigger model. The document viewer and Internet access would be a huge plus, especially for Uni. I don't know if I'm going to be able to wait till Christmas to get one, I think I'm going to have to buy an 80GB one when I'm not in debt
My mistake. I misinterpreted you. It could be taken both ways. The internet access and similar features are what make me so interested in it. But seriously, what good is a larger widescreen ipod if you can only have a few movies on it? Go for the 160 gig one. Seriously.
Yep, exactly. 10 hours of video is barely anything, that's 3-4 movies, probably less if they've been encoded at a higher quality. 160 gig is tempting, but it would hold more than my MacBook My music collection is constantly expanding, but I think I only have 8 gig of music and then 13 gig of movies. I wonder if the new Classic is any more scratch-proof, the old ones get scratched at the drop of the hat.
Wow.... I can't believe you guys are complaining that 16GB isn't enough! I have a 2GB Ipod nano that i've not filled yet and wouldn't ever watch videos on lol. As for 160GB.... my laptops hardrive is only 40 And of that i've filled maybe 12GB?
Haha times really do change... I do wonder how much space will be needed in another few years and what else will be different.
Im suffering terribly at boarding school. 30 gig HD's, and of my 15 gig of music at home I could only transport 13. I can't download any music. Im really, really dying hear ladies and gents. 160gb would be absolutely gold.
The price of those is definitely not as high now, if you look around you can get them quite cheaply...
Hey Frost, there's a really cheap one on DealsDirect if you can buy online Portable Hard Drive - 300GB - Samsung - 3.5'' Slimline - Storage Devices - DealsDirect.com.au Australia Portable Hard Drive - 250GB Maxtor HDD - Slimline - Storage Devices - DealsDirect.com.au Australia (Hope I can post those here?) Lp, I totally agree 16 gig wouldn't even hold half my collection of movies and songs.
Sweet mother of Jesus, they are cheap! Definately must engage in some discussion with the parents on this one. Thanks for the links.
Sorry for bumping this, but for the first time ever, I've run out of space on my iPod! Clearly, there is only one solution- buying a new 80 gig iPod And so I am. I now have 47 movies on my computer and they won't all fit onto my iPod which is no good. If I sell my old one for $150, my mum can't kill me
