Hello, I'm just taking the time to introduce myself a little bit, before I go all crazy with the posting... I'm only fifteen years old, but I have loved to write since I was around seven or eight years old. I do not write as a professional occupation, but I write for my own pleasure. I would love to post some of my random attempts at actual novels on here, and constructive criticism is quite welcome! I'd love to get to know all of you here.
Hm, I suppose realistic fiction, mostly. I tried my hand at fantasy, but I found that I got so involved in the smaller aspects of describing an entirely new sort of world that it just became too complicated and confusing.
Welcome IndigoDye! I'm also a fan of realistic fiction as well as dramas and romantic fiction! Hope you enjoy it on the site! You'll have a great time posting and reading other people's work! Make sure that for every piece you post, you have to review two works that other people did, just to make sure that enough pieces are being reviewed. Enjoy!
Welcome to the forum, this is a great place to hone your writing skills and get feedback. See you around the board.
Hello Indigo, Welcome to the Writing Forums. I hope that doesn't mean you're stuck writing purple prose. But if you are, we'll try to help with that as well. Posting your own work should not be the very first thing you do here. It is really worthwhile to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Welcome to the site. I'm new here aswell. You'll really enjoy it here, it's a great way to read other's writing and get feedback on your own. My favourite genre is also realistic fiction. If you ever want to chat or need some advice on a piece of writing just leave me a profile message. I hope you enjoy it here.
Thanks, and I'll be sure to check out the FAQ sections Cogito. I think that the rule for Reviewing is a very good idea, at any rate, and it's not that difficult to get the hang of for newcomers. I'm looking forward to seeing you all (and your writings) around the boards!
Welcome to the forums! I'm a fan of any sort of fiction, so I can't wait to read your work. If you ever want to chat, feel free to leave me a profile message. I'm always free. ^.^
Welcome Indigo. Always glad to see another young writer who writes for their own personal pleasure. I'm the same also. I also write realistic fiction also. I'm looking forward to seeing you around the fiction area posting reviews, and hope to be able to see you post your own work up eventually
