Pardon the inconvenience. Replacement Links under construction. What you want is right here: NEW MEMBER QUICK START GUIDE
brainy idea, adam!... wonder why no one's thought of it till now... not personal, but many others offer a personal 'hello' and this is sorely needed, imo... love and approving hugs, maia
Hey! Very informative for new members. I like it. I suppose you could personally post them in new thread or perhaps we could make one that's a sticky?
I think you should make it sticky. It's a bit mundane, so if it's posted invidiually on each trhread it won't grab a lot of welcoming spirit. No offense, guidelines are mundane
I suppose, but some find greatness and others need it thrust upon them in a haphazardly manner. I could see it as a sticky, then just post the smaller link in each of the welcoming threads.
Whichever you prefer, since you came up with the idea. I suppose you could make a new thread (or I could move this one) and make it a sticky and just post a link to it. It'd have to be updated periodically, most likely.
Yeah... things like rule changes, the end/beginning of new contests, and things others come up with could be featured in the packs. Though I'd also like if others were to post them as well. That way everyone gets one in a short amount of time and isn't left wondering like I've seem some do. We can just use this thread, and when we need another pack, just update it and lead them to the new post.
A good idea well done. How about adding about the Reviewers and Mods into it, their colour and purpose for example?
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. (Maybe even add why certain members are blue ) I was supposed to have posted links to the code list as well. Never even knew about that until the Harry Potter conversations started up.
If it helps.. i'm a mod and I didn't know about the code list until then either... I love this idea, perhaps as a stickied thread and then when you're welcoming someone just put the link in for them to read if they want to.
^ Woot! 1000th Post! ... and a happy birthday as well (or at least, that's what it says at the bottom of the main page)
Too true about the blue thing and having not read the Potter thing I knew not about the code list either - but all useful fo sho. Can you hyperlink to the View Forum Leaders, that might help?
I was actually trying to find a place where it explained their powers. That link just shows who is what.
Can you clarify for me. (Bare with me I sort of still getting back into the swing after recent events. ) LMAO beleive it or not I only spend a couple of hours here a day unless im alone in the house then I spend some time here. Just as well really considering the amount of rubbish flames and spam we've recently had. Who told you about the rent
Hi Hulls - Adamant is looking for a link to Mod and Reviewer responsibilities rather than the Leader list. Somewhere that lists what it is each does so that he can add it to his project.
Best thing is to PM Lpspider. To become a reviewer you must give at least three detailed reviews of anothers stories and then pm the links to Lpspider. However Im not sure if he's accepting reviewers at the moment. You'll have to pm him and ask.
Uh...? We were just asking if there was any thread that actually explained what the Mods, Super Mods, Admin, and Reviewers do to fulfill their roles on the site. The leader list just tells who is which of the groups.
It's been a while but I believe when you register it sends you a welcome email and asks you to activate your account. I don't know LPSpider still has that turned on or whatnot. Most forums are set up that way but I don't know if this software will allow you to customize any of that or not.
Don't see why it wouldn't ... and what exactly do you do as an IT guy? I was thinking about some career in computers.
