    not/nor...?

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by victo, Jul 1, 2015.

Can the word 'not' (as an alternative to 'neither') be used with 'nor'?

He is not attending the meeting nor buying us lunch. (PARALLEL)

BAD SENTENCE/UNPARALLEL? He is not attending the meeting, nor is he buying us lunch.

    Thank you.

    Hope this helps.
