Found it on https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/26244536-the-angel-wore-fangs I can't decide if I want to read just for perplexity or I want to faint right now. ================= And here is the blurb as given ================ New York Times bestselling author Sandra Hill continues her sexy Deadly Angels series, as a Viking vangel’s otherworldly mission pairs him with a beautiful chef who whets his thousand-year-old appetite . . . Once guilty of the deadly sin of gluttony, thousand-year-old Viking vampire angel Cnut Sigurdsson is now a lean, mean, vampire-devil fighting machine. His new side-job? No biggie: just ridding the world of a threat called ISIS while keeping the evil Lucipires (demon vampires) at bay. So when chef Andrea Stewart hires him to rescue her sister from a cult recruiting terrorists at a Montana dude ranch, vangel turns cowboy. Yeehaw! The too-tempting mortal insists on accompanying him, surprising Cnut with her bravery at every turn. But with terrorists stalking the ranch in demonoid form, Cnut teletransports Andrea and himself out of danger—accidentally into the tenth-century Norselands. Suddenly, they have to find their way back to the future to save her family and the world . . . and to satisfy their insatiable attraction.
No longer will I worry that my stories are weird and insane. If I have Mishu (a human) develop a crush on Kenthew, member of the race of horned cat-folks, it would not be as weird as this blurb... Mishu snuggled her face into Kenthew's warm, fuzzy chest and sighed contently.
Oi! I didn't know that. Oo Good thing Kenthew has no desire to have sex with her. Edit: Oh god, now I have that image in my head. x(
It's hilarious, that's what. Reminds me of the dinosaur helicopter thread. Speaking of which, are we ever going back to that @Tenderiser? I think it might have been before the update pause maybe. Some threads seem to have never become active again. Forgotten. Lost to the winds. They dance in the twilight. EDIT: Reviews of this book say things like "this is the funniest book I've ever read." Yep. Definitely satire. There seems to be a market for bizarre conceptual blends turned into absurdist action romances.
Satire needs the right blend of truth and absurdity to work. This example doesn't raise a smile for me. Helicopter/dinosaur porn reviewing will resume at some point. I still get a lot of website hits from weirdos googling it
Well, you know, anthro cat characters are hardly the weirdest thing to be attracted to. They're human-like and mammalian, so they're not much different from humans actually.
I agree with @Tenderiser that this is not parody. At best it is a Paranormal Romance Comedy. Still going to stand by my original statement, as I don't think anything about the premise is funny or amusing. OP Supernatural being made up of randomness falling for a normal person, while trying to save the world is nothing new. Definitely not funny. -5 points at the starting line. But then each has their own taste, and opinion. I will leave it at that.
Fair point. Guess Kenthew is basically a furry human with a tail, cat's head and horns, huh? Mishu: I'm hoping to rub the feline out of you. Reeee-oww!! Kenthew: I... Oh my goddess, what's that?! (Flees)
