Okay smart creative types -- help me :-)

Discussion in 'Setting Development' started by doggiedude, Jul 28, 2016.

I'm trying to invent a slang word. The word is to refer to someone or some business giving a person less than their allotted ration of food.
I thought of using something like shortrash or lightrash -- a combination of short & ration or light & ration but since both short & light end in T it makes the word look too much like trash for my taste.

Context: That didn’t stop him from placing the food on a scale to ensure the restaurant didn’t short-ration them.

    Thanks in advance

    Stiffslice?

Slice like you're slicing rations, and stiff like stiffing someone.

Also, sorry I've been slow with our critique swap. I have a lot going on but will get back in the swing as soon as I can.

Half-hand: From 'the hand that feeds you'

they can 'cut' your ration, like in drugs how cutting means to throw in some sort of filler that's not the delicious drugs you're trying to buy.

That didn’t stop him from placing the food on a scale to ensure the restaurant didn’t underash them.

That didn’t stop him from placing the food on a scale to ensure the restaurant didn’t conrash them.

That didn’t stop him from placing the food on a scale to ensure the restaurant didn’t smallrash them.

That didn’t stop him from placing the food on a scale to ensure the restaurant didn’t rashwindle them.

That didn’t stop him from placing the food on a scale to ensure the restaurant didn’t rashle them.

I understand that in your world this practice is probably very common, but I'm not really sure I understand why an existing phrase wouldn't do. Swindle, short-change, etc.

Ohhh I think underash is gonna be the winner. Although, rashwindle is a close second.

    Thanx
