Hi all. A big hello from the North of England where it is so cold that even the penguins wear overcoats As the title says I am a newbie but looking at the age of some of the posters on this section I now feel decidedly ancient I'll be posting a full profile when time permits(actually I'm just buying time so that I can think of some words which will make me seem utterly fascinating) but in short I'm a people orientated laid back individual with a devilish sense of humour and whether you are 16 or 116 I would love hear from you . Obviously I will steal all of your ideas then make millions without giving you any credit whatsoever so please feel free to drop me a line. Stay lucky
Hey man! I'm from the Northeast myself. Glad to know there is another Northener on this site. This place is very friendly and the people here are very nice, I'm new here myself and already feel at home. Hope you like it man! Lemex
Cheers mate Ta for the reply. Apart from location we have something else in common. The guitar. Actually my claim to fame is that I created a new way of guitar playing. I picked one up for the first time at the age of 47, took lessons for three years and finished up worse than when I started Cheers for the reply. I'm sure we'll speak again
Hello and welcome to WF.org. I do hope that you have a wonderful time here with all of us and decide to stick around. What do you write? Anyways enjoy your stay here and I look forward to seeing your posts around the boards. Torana
Welcome to the site. There seems to be a uprising of Northern English members which is surely a good thing. If you have any questions about anything on here then let us know and we'd sort you out. I look forward to seeing you around the site.
Cheers for that. I've not done any formal writing as yet other than being a member of a Fans Forum in my local paper. It was a panel of six people from a variety of backgrounds and we previewed/reviewed all matches involving our beloved Sunderland Football Club. I really enjoyed doing it but gave it up before the start of this season because of work commitments. The crazy thing is I got a fair bit of exposure through it and built up a bit of a following mainly because my fellow panelists tended to be very factual and serious whereas I always tried to inject some humour into my reports. My main aim at present is to write a non fiction book about selling which has been my chosen profession for the last twenty eight years. I know there are thousands out there but I am hoping to take a bit of a different approach and it goes without saying that it will be light hearted but at the same time very informative especially for someone who looking to get into their first sales position. It will also show that the job involves much more than looking smart and driving round in a fancy car all day. I have been jotting down my thoughts and observations for months so I am hoping my involvement within this forum will encourage me to get going.
Well I do have to admit that inside this smooth sophisticated exterior there is a Rock God just waiting to burst out. I went to see The Who a few months ago(and got Townshends plectrum) and I reckon I've still got a chance. Having said that I still see myself playing for Sunderland so I guess with such a great imagination this writing lark should be easy eh?

Hello yfc54, Welcome to the Writing Forums. I have a few months on you, but I'll resist the temptation to call you kid. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room on this site, therefore, is a true workshop, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
