I could say Pink Floyd, because I listened to them as a wee baby. Now though, I'd say the Beatles, Trespassers William, Radiohead or Chopin. So what if Chopin isn't a band and I picked more than one.
Probably Evanescence, I've loved them since I were 13.. but now that I am nearly 18.. my music taste is changing.. maturing you could say.
Red Hot Chili Peppers. With the exception of One Hot Minute (By The Way was questionable, but still good) they haven't done anything I didn't enjoy.
I second that... as the paint fumes begin to pervade my nostrils... the new album is kinda weird though - less Mike
One band? I can't be that specific! =O Hmm.....one band.... ....Billy Joel, I guess. With a thousand different close runners-up.
its hard to choose one band, i love so many depending on wut genre of rock/metal u r talking about..... hmm, i guess ill go for my fav black metal band, Cradle of Filth. o, and for the heck of it, here are the lyrics for one of my favorite songs, a clean one of course, lol Her Ghost In The Fog-Cradle of Filth: "The Moon, she hangs like a cruel portrait soft winds whisper the bidding of trees as this tragedy starts with a shattered glass heart and the Midnightmare trampling of dreams But no, no tears please Fear and pain may accompany Death But it is desire that shepherds it's certainty as We shall see..." She was divinity's creature That kissed in cold mirrors A Queen of Snow Far beyond compare Lips attuned to symmetry Sought Her everywhere Dark liqoured eyes An Arabian nightmare... She shone on watercolours Of my pondlife as pearl Until those who couldn't have Her Cut Her free of this World That fateful Eve when... The trees stank of sunset and camphor Their lanterns chased phantoms and threw An inquisitive glance, like the shadows they cast On my love picking rue by the light of the moon Putting reason to flight Or to death as their way They crept through woods mesmerized By the taffeta Ley Of Her hips that held sway Over all they surveyed Save a mist on the rise (A deadly blessing to hide) Her ghost in the fog They raped and left... (Five men of God) ...Her ghost in the fog Dawn discovered Her there Beneath the Cedar's stare Silk dress torn, Her raven hair Flown to gown Her beauty bared Was starred with frost, I knew Her lost I wept 'til tears crept back to prayer She'd sworn Me vows in fragrant blood "Never to part Lest jealous Heaven stole our hearts" Then this I screamed: "Come back to Me for I was born in love with thee So why should fate stand inbetween?" And as I drowned Her gentle curves With dreams unsaid and final words I espied a gleam trodden to earth The Church bell tower key... The village mourned her by the by For She'd been a witch their Men had longed to try And I broke under Christ seeking guilty signs My tortured soul on ice A Queen of snow Far beyond compare Lips attuned to symmetry Sought Her everywhere Trappistine eyes An Arabian nightmare... She was Certainly Perfused Of her milky white skin My porcelain Yin A graceful Angel of Sin And so for Her... The breeze stank of sunset and camphor My lantern chased Her phantom and blew Their Chapel ablaze and all locked in to a pain Best reserved for judgement that their bible construed... Putting reason to flight Or to flame unashamed I swept form cries Mesmerized By the taffeta Ley Or Her hips that held sway Over all those at bay Save a mist on the rise A final blessing to hide Her ghost in the fog And I embraced Where lovers rot... Her ghost in the fog Her ghost in the fog
I don't really have a single favourite band, but if I really had to pick then I'd probably go with Linkin Park.
i love to listen to many others and have been a fan of some for longer, but w/ a combo of those two parameters, i'd have to say the TJB... now, does anyone here know what that is? ps: how can a singer/piano player [billy joel] be called a 'band'?
Meh. In the same way that Bruce Springsteen (Another awesome dude) is a music group, I guess. I'm not too interested in the semantics, just the music... *hums Scenes From An Italian Restaurant under breath*
The one I've listened to the longest by far, although not a band, is Billy Joel. I listened to him in the womb. However, whilst I am a huge fan of Mr. Joel, I think the band I've listened to for a fairly long period of time was either Evanescence (5 years) or Elliott Smith (7 years). You can't compare either with the other, because the two are just so diverse. System of a down is also up there, probably in 3rd or 4th. I was so devastated when they went on 'hiatus.' PS. I LOVE CRADLE OF FILTH!! Great taste in music, sir.
Herb Alpert is the "A" of A&M Records. I used to enjoy the Tijuana Brass; but I have to admit that although the music was lively and fun, they weren't the most accomplished musicians.
