Hi everyone, I know that a number of people are upset about how Heather was treated by a member of WF.org, a member who was banned from here for his belligerance and other misbehavior. Please, please do not go there and fight back. All that it will do is inflame the bad feelings that already simmer between the two forums. It's not right to go chasing him down for badmouthing this forum, and it doesn't make us look any better. Both forums were established for writers. Maybe we're a bit stricter about what we allow here, and some may think that that means we suppress free expression. They have some members there, for example Voodoo, who have a toothy rodent chewing them from within. So what? The more he rants and sputters, the worse he looks. The more we go there and rail back at him, the worse we look. How would someone be treated here if they came in to rally behind someone who raised a ruckus here? We would react with anger, not only toward the ones that "invaded" our site, but also against the site they came from. As I said, both sites were established for writers to share their work and to learn to write better. Waging a war over thos few who join sites to cause trouble only serves the troublemakers at the expense of those who are just around to write. So please, don't heat things up beyond where they are. Oww, i was dreading this happening. It was some stupid thing that went on, i was spoken to a little rudely by some person on another site who was badmouthing this site and i mentioned it here. since a few other members went over and got involved, which i really wish hadn't have happened. either way, it has now, but i am fully on Cogito's side, there is no need to start a forum war, we all want one thing which is to better our writing. if some people want to be childish about it then let them be, but leave them to it. sorry ot have caused all fo this. You didn't cause it Heather. Voodoo/Jeremy started it, but he is getting just what he wants by sucking other people in. There is some overlap in membership between the two forums as it is. Anyone could have ended up being the one who stumbled into that pile of poo. That pile of poo that Voodoo dude do'ed.
Like I said, just ignore him. With a mouth like his I doupt he has any friends anyway. He clearly has no idea how to talk to woman. So I'd rather not be reminded of his existance.
Heather it's not your fault, you had good intentions (I praise ya for sticking up for the forum) however everything seems to have ended up a bit on the sticky situation end.. but oh well, that's life, let's learn and move on, ja?
Thanks guys. I just didn't want to end up causing anything, which is why i have decided to ingnore that thread from now on. It just annoyed me to see that he was saying that. not so much that he was saying that, but that he was telling everyone else we are crap aswell which is simply not fair. anywho, let him get on with it i guess. He has freedom of speech, and can say whatever he wants. Thing is, he is showing himself a fool all by himself. He needs no help from us, and why stoop to his level? Of course he is throwing a tantrum. He was stopped short here when he started spitting venom, so he has to gripe somewhere. At least it's not here.
Freedom of speech is all well and good, until exercised by assholes. At any rate, I vote this should just be left to die. If Jeremy/Voodoo doesn't get any attention from his tantrum, then he'll stop eventually. Oh, and we have a new member out of it, so all is good
on another front, it seems simon was dissed on wf.com and a member here is sending out messages by pm, asking that we go there and post our support of him... but that would be just adding fuel to the flames and go against what you're asking here, cog, wouldn't it?... anyway, that's what i told the well-meaning but misguided [imo] member who just sent that message and i hope you'll add a repeat of your wise counsel here to that... love and peace-loving hugs to all, maia
Just ignore Germy(German Voodoo aka Jeremy aka Voodoo). He's already been banned on wf.com once or twice for cussing out the admins, and nobody really pays much attention to his ranting. But, in classic Voodoo style, I must point out that you mispelled "forum"...
And I must point you to this: How many forum members does it take to change a lightbulb? - Writing Forums Yes... I know that you know of it.

Wow I miss all the good stuff when i'm away... It is a shame that people can be so closed minded and feel like they have to start acting like this towards other forums, so its up to us to show them that it doesn't matter what they say about us because we know that we're a fantastic community that has too many people hooked Ie. Me I hope that you'll all agree with both Cogito and I and just ignore the tantrum and not rise to the bait. We're better than that.
It's not out of line, Etan, and if that is true, then you should inform the Mod team here about it. This is not what the forum is about; you're right about it getting out of hand.
It has now been handled by the wf.com admins. Voodoo, Hulls Raven, Throth, and "Luther" have all been issued permanent bans; Voodoo, for being a talented, popular, trouble-maker, and the rest for threats and general misconduct so bad that they have been issued the first permanent bans I have ever seen on wf.com (in my admittedly short stay).
Raven was banned? Hmm... I must have really missed something - just what the hell did that kid say to cause all of this?
