Wow. During my time as a regular on WF.com, permanent bans were about as common as they are here...

Oooo...not good. Hulls banned on wf.com? Oh well, I'd agree with mammamaia, doing something like supporting him would be weird.
Nevertheless, one should take lesson from this thread and leave these awful incidents behind.

I'm sorry to be harsh about this, but what has happened is not nice at all. But it does not affect this site, provided we leave it be and move on.

We want this to be over now let it be over. I know there are hard feelings there everyone, but we are here for one thing and that is to be a part of a writing community. Lets put this in the past and get back to what we all came here for and that is to share our writing and improve our skills.

It doesn't matter who started it. They can only start a forum war if we allow ourselves to be sucked into it.

What happens there should stay there.

As in War Games, the only way to win is not to play.

Yes. We disagree. A few over there may, as you say, wish to start a war. Why descend to that level?

The only possible outcome is that we end up looking like unruly children who cannot control ourselves. It will reflact poorly on this forum and everyone in it, in the same way youy are painting WF.com with a broad brush.

Is it defending someone's honor to throw a tantrum in their name?

Exactly what is it that you propose to accomplish by diving in with fists flying? How will that defend the honor of Raven, or Banzai, or Heather, or WF.org as a whole?

If you need to prove something, prove that we can hold to a higher standard of behavior. Or would you rather confirm that we are as bad as you claim they all are?

It only takes a few people to make a forum look like a bad roadhouse at closing time.

From what I saw, Banzai and Heather can defend themselves very capably:D.

and HR is to blame for what happened to him.

What's left to fight about? Voodoo was banned there, so what evil enemies are there to war against?

There's absolutely no need to have "wars" of any kind. The members of WF.com and WF.org are the same breed of people and I don't see any reason there would be any problem.

The staff at WF.com has its reasons for banning Hulls Raven. However, it has always been the policy of WF.com to not discuss moderation issues, protecting the privacy of both the moderators and the forum members. We are level headed people.

    Regards,

    Shawn

We all are, Shawn, which is why I don't understand how this has been blown so out of proportion...

Good to see you here, though :)

There is an old saying which says "Fight fire with fire" However, firefighters use water.

So my friends the moral of the story is

Let's do what the professionals do and take the cool approach.

I don't know why WF.com banned Raven. I don't much care why, either, because I know he is an honorable man, and I respect him. There is no benefit to a war between forums.

From what I have seen of the two forums, we are more alike than we are different. They get troublemakers, and we have had our share of them too. We always will.

And we do have members in common, so let's not add to whatever bad feelings have developed between the forums.

I'm not above kicking butt if it serves a purpose. But I make damned sure it DOES serve a purpose, and not just to pound on my chest and be the Alpha ape.

So let's let it pass, support our people here without trying to tear down those on the other shore.

You know, like what we deplore in world events?

Nobody gets banned from any forum for any reason other than failing to abide by the rules

Sadly, Baron, that's not always true. But as I said, what happens there is not in our control. And Hulls Raven has done plenty to deserve our repect here.

unfortunately what Cog says is true. Cliques form and jealousy steps in and someone is kicked out.
I am enjoying my time here as everyone is friendly and helpful.
Sure hope it stays this way.

Hull's Raven is not the only person to be banned and the over-reaction by people who want to further strife is no better than the original cause of the dispute. This is getting blown into childishly outrageous proportions.

Seriously don't you think that it is time this was put behind us so we can get back to doing what we are all here to do?

It's in the past so get over it and move on already. No one wants strife, no one is asking for strife. Lets just all move past this and get back to the writing side of things now.

    Torana

Sorry but yeah just my thoughts.....
