I'm planning on doing a character sketch of a guy in the midst of a post-apocalyptic wasteland whose wearing a hazmat suit and a gasmask. It's going to open with the noise of him breathing through the gasmask, and I want it to sound Darth Vader-esque. So, thoughts? I'm thinking, inhale: Khooooooooh Exhale: Khaaaaaaaah
When you breathe through a gasmask (at least, according to movies) it makes a heavy noise, kind of like Darth Vader's respiration in Star Wars. Does the above sound like that?
Not very, it sounds more like someone trying to clear their breathing passage because something huge is stuck in there; my dad does that whether the thing is huge or not. I just don't get what a sketch has to do with sound, or do 'sketch' here mean 'profile'? I found a sound effect of breathing through a gasmask on youtube. to me it sounds more like: kahooooph-inhale peeoooph- exhale
yeah, by sketch I mean brief description. Thanks for the input. I'll watch some vids too just to get a proper idea of what it sounds like and not the Hollywood-embellished version.
I had a training with it when i was in the army and dont remember that it made that much noise, maybe it depends on type but think its more enhanced sound that we hear in movies and those youtube clips It was like breathing through a small vent
