How recent... from your last post? Well, Eslana, NPC Kitza and Faramar woke up. The highly articulate yet berserk troll, attacked Eslana after smelling his comrades blood on her. Since Eslana - "didn't know what happened in the short second she had closed her eyes" I assume Kitza the NPC had some hidden firepower that turned the troll into a pillar of flame. After leaving the arena, Pyree used all but one space-time thread and destroyed her storage container/bracelet. Doing so allowed her to teleport a swarm of bugs, herself and Dras back to the arena. A intentional side effect of teleportation caused several bugs to explode. Rodrick/RusticOnion was incapacitated by Atlas who then discovered and entered the coliseum, but was last seen in a dark entry way, and not the arena proper. Magnalian the Summoner hinted to plans going awry and will most likely take action soon. I included two actions from other characters so I could progress time a little bit. Faramar is now unbound on his feet. And Pyree "witnessed" (if she can witness things that haven't happened yet...) Magnafire Drake tossing Faramar the blue jeweled Jo'Reda. Losthawken said that six characters were bound and held captive in the coliseum, but I'm still not sure which characters he was referring to exactly. I only counted Eslana, Kitza, Faramar, Pyree and The Magnan. He might have been thinking about Sydrian Darkblood, JP Griffen's character, but somehow Sydrian woke up before making it to the coliseum and is battling Magnalian's pheonix in the jungle. There are more than a few plothole type things, but thats about all I got for a quick summary.
^ Mostly just for filler, to be honest. Sydrian just doesn't want to be forgotten! (Although, he'll pass if it means freedom .) Nah, I just wanted/needed to stay in the story, I'll be much more prominent come next "round." Until then, 'tis a phoenix to be hunted! Otherwise, though, seems accurate.
Just as an additional update, Kitza is no longer an NPC. Also, the above is what happened to the troll, if your character would see it.
Crazy busy day yesterday guys, sorry for the delay. I spent all day in meetings and then had to get my own experiments done. I WILL get something up today.
No idea how I glazed over your explanation. Sorry about that. Here I was thinking I was up to date... The explanation totally works for me. I just have one request: I wanna see what Eslana can do, and I want to read some cool back-story for her. I really enjoyed how she confused Faramar for a Harpy. Those character specific judgements are some of the best flavors in this format. At least that's the case for my humble pallet. It still bugs me how her powers/equipment section in your Bio was left blank, even though I've had the pleasure of being surprised by each new ability OOOHH I've got an idea. Who's up for posting New Character Bios at the start of each chapter? It'd be a great way to bring new players up to speed as well as give us a chance to modify powers/equipment as they change throughout the story. I'm tired of having to explain how weirded out Pyree is by strange inexplicable events, and would love the chance to redefine a few personality elements.
^ This. I like this idea. A Character Bio input/update would be great! I know that Atlas could use a little bit of updating as well.
Excellent idea Galeskies! I hope the boss fight is up to your expectations. You may pick your opponent, except for Morvane. If she wants a different opponent she needs to evade the javelganger first. Don't kill my pets until the voting is complete. I'll go set up the poll now... **Edit** and here it is.
I like the idea of the updated character bios. Besides getting players up-to-date, histories can be updated to show what the person experienced in the last chapter, and anything else significant that had altered his/her character. EDIT: I'll get something posted so that I'm at least somewhere near when the battle resolves (instead of wandering the woods). I'll stumble into the ruins and go from there afterwards.
Awesome. It looks like the epic battle has begun! I think I might wait for some others to post before posting again.
If no one else minds, Eslana is going to go after the Chlorophage. If you care to join me, PM me and we'll work out the combat
Your post was great Mag. Don't forget that the snake can also fly now... Most of you probably know, but I'm giving you a lot of creative license with these monsters because it would be impossible for me to retaliate individually for each of you. These are supposed to be uber-nasty creatures, use their powers as you interpret them from the previously posted descriptions, and if needed exaggerate their abilities to better challenge your characters. I'll jump in occasionally to throw in new tricks that I have in mind. Work together to make this an EPIC battle and don't forget to VOTE. As a side note: the reason I directed the javelganger at Dros was just to more clearly demonstrate what it was and how it worked. Dros seemed like a well matched opponent. He's one of my favorite concepts pulled from another story of mine so I wanted him to start off true to the original idea. But Morvane can take it from there. I've actually played around with the idea of a RPG where player-characters become Javelganger like cyber-zombies in order to fight more standard style zombies... Once the voting is complete we will work together to wrap up the battle and epically whoop Magnalian.
Hold the phone.... it can fly... IT... Can... Fly... and I thought I was incredibly inventive. Nice idea. EDIT: all Next week I won't have internet access, so I won't be on, Cheddar if you don't mind, you can temporarily control Magnafire in the battle with Nasgar, my posts earlier should hopefully give you an idea of how he feels, basically, The Magnans like their ancestors before them are the enemy of the Serpentine (Snake-warriors) hence the hatred of Nasgar.
Will do, Magnan. I'll try my best to keep in character. I have three different assignments due on Monday, so I've been a little hard-pressed this week. Sorry about that. I'll try to get something in soon, Atlas is likely to help Magnafire out with Nasgar.
I chose to take on the phoenix. I hope that's OK with everyone. Also I apologize for my prolonged absences, but I've been having some troubles over here. I think I'll be able to post more often now. Also, Magnan I have a question: What gift did Magnafire give to Faramar? Were you referring to the sword or was it something else? I'm sorry, I might just be misinterpretting.
Yay! Faramar's back! lol. Areadrill, even you seem happy to have the sword back. Your post was uplifting! Missed your sword, did you? Well, it's all nice and shiny new now!
Yup! The sword was a boost of confidence, not only to Faramar but also to me. Now I just have to slay me some monsters and all will be right.
@losthawken: I have a few plans that I'd like you to aprove. You said in your post about the monsters that the phoenix grows more attuned to fire over time. Could it be that she can spit out fire (like a dragon)? Or is it too soon for it to do that? Apart from that, you also wrote that when it dies, a new egg can be found among the ashes. Could it be then in the case that Faramar wins (hint: I intend him to ) he could keep the new phoenix as a sort of pet? Just throwing ideas out there... Just one more thing: I've been speaking to Rapaz to try to convince him to get back in the game, but he seems to not want to take part in it. He said maybe he'll pick it up when the new chapter starts
I asked him the same thing. His response: (at least to the effect of-) A phoenix, when hatched, will be ravenous, hungry, and probably a bit agitated, hostile, etc. It's a matter of taming it and making it grow friendly to your character once it's hatched. Great minds think alike, eh?
Working on the golem/animorph, but I'm stuck at Sakuracon. Yay, I can think of no more wonderful a place to be stuck at.
Finally got something up. Magnan hadn't responded to my PM in a few days, so I assumed that he didn't have internet connection (he said next week, but I guess that included the weekend), so I assumed light control of his character. Sorry if I messed something up.
Great work you guys! This is going to be a busy week for me, I've got symposium to present at on Friday and need to get my crap together. You guys are doing great though, I'll try to add something in in the today or tomorrow.
