@Wreybies Oh, I think I know.... Spoiler: Spoiler It was on the tips of my fingers, and Ginger's comment made me think of it. It's Niven, but it's not Rungworld is it? The Pak and Puppeteers fight, and the sweet potato relates to the Pak. It may be in the same universe as Ringworld - I'm not sure. But I don't know that it is Ringworld.
@GingerCoffee I knew that one right away...is it... Spoiler: Spoiler "To Serve Man," the cookbook from the Twilight Zone episode?
This is correct. The yam appears in a number of his Known Space novels, to include all of the Ringworld novels, and yes, it has to do with the Pak, who are (in the books) the species from which we descended. We are Pak "breeders" forever stuck in the breeder instar because the virus that should live in the yams that would trigger our transformation into Protectors didn't take on Earth and died out, though the yams themselves are still present in our ecology. In the books, it is called Tree of Life.
That's what spoiler tags are for. You play your way, I play mine. But no need, this was one of my son's favorite videos as a kid. Spoiler Army of Darkness
Yep... Spoiler: I was actually thinking of Evil Dead 2, which is my favorite of the series, but I think the S-Mart scene from Army of Darkness is more on point. I just like ED2 better.
I think.....a lot agree with you So hard to pick Evil Dead trilogy is awesome but Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness are obviously the standouts compared to the first. Evil Dead 2 was the first I saw and remember being actually pretty scared as a kid when his headless girlfriend danced. Soooo Evil Dead 2 has a great blend of comedy and horror Army of Darkness though great, its certainly the odd ball of the Evil Dead movies XD not really horror but an epic fantasy action adventure less gore. Still though I like that it did something so radically different then the first two and the reboot, but yeah 2 has the best parts of them all
The boomstick was a bit easy (albeit cool), but how about we broaden the scope of geekdom: Anyone recognize where this is from?
Yeah, I googled it in the end, so I didn't answer. It seems that image is from even before the Apple Lisa I pictured.
It sounds like a siege tank deploying in Starcraft. But they might have stolen it from something else too lol
