Niel says "Ok, I can do that. What place would you like me to lure him to." Niel hears Chaos say "Perfect, this way we could get answers from both of them."
John smiled, still acting humble. "I will let you know when the time is right, my friend Niel. Right now, he is watching me closely. You must leave." He clicked his fingers, and a guard came forward. "He will guide you back to your room, but blindfolded. The military is kind towards me, but not kind enough."
When Niel gets back to his room, he lays down on the bed. He can hear Chaos say "This is perfect, now that we know his plan we can use it to get more information out of Belleth." "Yes, I suppose that is the best course of action at this time."
Ambriel thanked Gregor for his helpfulness with the flamethrower...but she was sure she would have another use for it After Gregor left, she sat and thought about what he had said concerning Niel and her looking into his files, good going Ambriel..now he thinks your against him...that really worked out." She was getting more and more paranoid since her encounter with the Lord of Creepy in Mortimer's room. She could still hear it speaking to him. "I am the shadows that haunt your nightmare...I can tear your soul apart." She shuddered. "Wait..." she thought..."I have been dreaming of shadows and the voice..." She put her hand to her lips..."Oh God...could he have been talking to me and not really Mortimer at all?" Ambriel needed to know what Mortimer knew and he was just going to damn well tell her...after all, he believed the monster to be her anyway.
Skye stumbled from her room. She was confused, not really sure what everything meant. Why did Brenda have two different name? Was she possibly one of the aliens? She didn’t know what to think anymore. She needed someone to talk to. She walked on down the hall until her eyes met a familular face. She ran towards Ambriel, greeting her with a great big hug. She looked up at her with a half-hearted grin. “Miss Ambriel.” She said, “Can we talk in my room?”
Ambriel was worried for Skye, she knew she had been going through a lot as of late, and nothing she had tried to do was of any help...nobody took a mental patient serious;, especially when she tells them she wants to help care for another patient who happens to be so young. Ambriel followed Skye to her room.."What is the matter...tell me everything...I will do what I can to help." Things were getting more and more complicated.
Skye paced back and forth as she thought of what she needed to say. “There was a man.” She said, “He said he was my cousin.” She could still see his face, but she didn’t think that would help. She doubted she would see him again. She almost wished she hadn’t gotten him in trouble. “He wasn’t. I’m sure he wasn’t. He asked me to take him to Doctor Brenda’s room.” She started, “I did more then that, I broke into her room for him. I got him in. He was looking for something, I think. He probably would have succeeded if he didn’t call me insane. I got him in trouble.” She blushed. “Then Francine announced about the aliens just a few hours later!” she exclaimed, “I was confused. I thought maybe he had something to do with it. So I went back to Miss Brenda’s room. I looked everywhere, and I ended up finding a yellow folder. Inside was…” she stopped. “You can’t tell anyone I did that Miss Ambriel.” She said her eyes wide, “They’d never let me out of my room again.” She quickly pulled the passports from her pouch. She knew she should have them hidden still, but she needed to show Ambriel before she got them safetly hidden. “Two different names, the same person. I think that’s what that man was looking for.”
Francine. Francine. Where was she? She looked through the halls almost frantically, and then she stopped. She told herself to calm down, or nothing would get done - and then she continued her search.
Ambriel looked at Skye.."Good girl Skye...that was very brave...but, the next time something like this happens...try and find me okay?" Ambriel knew she was in a situation and to react, but she also knew she could have been easily killed. "Okay, Skye we have to hide these in a way that they will never be found...okay?" Looking around the room, Ambriel figured the best place to hide them was under there noses. "Help me lift the mattress, Honey, okay...if we make a cut in the seam and slide them in chances are they will never think to look here." After making a tiny slit in the seam they hid them right in plain sight. "Are you going to tell Gregor, Skye?" She wasn't sure what to do but she knew the Brenda was trouble and Skye was now a threat to her identity. Ambriel was determined to keep the child safe at all cost...even if she had to fight her herself.
He had exactly what he needed, or at least, he thought so. But before he went to see Gregor and got at all suspicious of anything - he really needed to see Francine. Pocketing the rest of the items, he came out of the reception room, to see if she was there after the frantic announcemnet. Angry that she wasn't, he took off in a random direction to search.
She eyed Francine in the cafeteria, and she looked inside herself for any twitches - neither Olena nor Vira could do this - it had to be her. "Madame," she said sweetly, sitting down next to her. "Doctor Francine, I really must speak with you - my divine purpose is relieving your stress, not adding more to it, so let that be known before you even hear a word I'll say."
Skye looked at the mattress not so sure she felt it safe there. She let it be, hoping it would be all right. “Do you think Miss Brenda will be very mad?” she asked, “Do you think she’s lying about being Miss Brenda?” Her eye gave a violent twitch. She had so many questions, but she kept them to herself. She looked back at Ambriel, and grabbed her hand. “Let’s go find Gregor.”
I lifted my eyes as Olena sat in front of me. It was a sudden exposure, if you ask me. However I had prepared myself for questions. "Go on, dear." I tried to act calm and unnerved.
Gregor shuffled the cards over and over. Klesps floated back and forth over the table. Neither of them were in much of a playing mood. The disguise had nearly worked, but there was no mistake that was John. Both Klesps and Handel had dealt with him on too many occasions to be fooled so easy. "What are you after," said Gregor. Klesps fiddled with the brim of his new fedora and wondered the same thing.
"Not that I've any information besides my watching you'd like, but I do feel a bit guilty questioning you without giving up what I know too, so if there's anything you'd like to ask me, feel free, and I'll do my best to answer you. Now, you've finally kind of let us in on what's going on here, but surely . . . " she trailed off and mentally scolded herself for doing so. "You must believe in these aliens, because no person in her right mind would say something like that in a mental insitute if it weren't true. Or, at least, if they didn't believe it was true."
Ambriel saw Skye looking at the matress and said, "If you ever feel that hidding place isn't safe, feel free to move it...it is only temporary anyway...I know a better place but we need to get it opened first..I don't want to be walking around with something so dangerous." Ambriel took Skye by the hand and turned to give the room one last look around...they would be back later to move them somewhere safer. "Okay, let's go find Gregor."
I nodded, trying to pick up what Olena wanted to say. "That's right dear. I not only said this to remove confusion, but also pull out the aliens. I'm sure some of you have experienced...weird things happening around you." I then stopped, looking around. "Do you suspect anyone, Olena?"
Gregor kept suffling the cards. There was nothing he or Klesps could do yet. They had to wait. "Well Klesps, we might as well play a few rounds to pass the time." As He dealt the cards, Gregor chuckled to himself. He could see Klesps' cards reflected in the new sunglasses. "CAre to raise the stakes? Oh how about that bottle of aftershave you are always using?"
She closed her eyes a moment, but again resolved it was not the time or place to object. So she gave Francine a simple answer. "Yes." she said, "my turn again. Do you expect John?"
Skye nodded her head and walked from the door. She closed her door, making sure it was shut completely. She lead the way as they walked at a fast pace through the hall. She knew he couldn’t be in his room. His room was no longer there. She headed towards the playroom, almost positive he’d be there. She turned into the playroom, closing the door behind them. She smiled at Gregor, quickly taking a seat next to him. She made a nod at Klesps, giving him a wave. “We’ve got something to tell you….” She said with a half-hearted smile.
Gregor and Klesps put their cards down. "It seems you've been having more adventures Skye. What Klesps? Yes, I'll tell her. Klesps says to be very careful. Now what new adventure have you been on?" BEfore she could answer Gregor quickly added, "Make sure you keep that knife sharp. John was here in disguise."
While Skye was talking to Gregor, Ambriel excused herself...she had a chore to take care of something which required her to be alone...she had to protect Skye, and the best way to do that was to keep her out of the know concerning her plans. "I will catch up to you guys later...she kissed Skye on the top of the head as she patted Gregors arm" Slowly she walked down the hall to Skye's room...the evidence against Brenda had to be kept in a place no one would ever look. Ambriel knew just the right place.
I shrugged. John, as an alien? It sounded weird, but possible. "I don't know. I think he's just a really bad military guy." I thought over it again. Was I saying it because he flirted with me? Naw, I hated him. But still... "My turn again. Who do you suspect, Olena?"
She sighed, wondering how to answer. "Olena and I are quite different, you'll find, and I'm a bit surprised you still think I'm she. As for your question, let this be your answer: expectations merely high, waits on those to surely try, hold your breath, and hold it tight, easy comes to easy light."
She looked at Ambriel as she walked off with concerned eyes. Why would John disguise himself? She thought. She looked back at Gregor, pulling her legs up to her chin and resting it on them. “A man came, said he was my cousin. I told you about him. I helped him get into Miss Brenda’s room.” She said in a very low tone, “I got him in trouble… he called me insane. I wish I hadn’t now. He was looking for something but I prevented him from finding it. Then the aliens. I thought he might have something to do with it. I went back to Miss Brenda’s room. I found… two passports. Two different names for the same person.” Her eye gave a twitch, as she looked around. “Do you think Miss Brenda will be very angry?” she asked biting her lip, “And why would someone have two passports, I don’t understand.”
