Out of Their Minds

Skye nodded in agreement, “She doesn’t speak English either. But that name… it’s almost familiar.” She looked down at the little girl, sitting in a chair in front of Francine’s desk. She sat the little girl in her lap, gently brushing her fingers through her hair.

 

Chaos looked down at Mortimer and smiled. "Just so you know, I'm faster than you, stronger than you, and I don't feel pain, so attacking me would be useless. If you go back on your part of the deal, I will hurt you." says Chaos. He released Mortimer from the straps that held him down.

 

Mortimer sat up, and looked the man straight in the eye. He seemed pretty well fit, but wasn't sure if he was bluffing or not. Mortimer put his face right into Chao's.
"Really boy? That's a f***ing mouthful." Mortimer pulled away from him and slunk to the other side of the room. With both hands on the wall he faced Chaos with a big grin on his face, "So boy, what the f*** was it you wanted to know?"

 

Chaos watches Mortimer go over to the other side of the room. "I wanted to know about the people that have visited you. What were they like and what did they say." says Chaos. Chaos prepares himself, just in case Mortimer decides to attack him.

 

My eyes widened as the Glenny told her name. Skye's continuation intensified my belief in what they said, and I immediately grabbed the girl's small hands.

"Calipto Souder."
I spoke out, realizing who she was. She was John's daughter. Probably a foreigner - since she didn't speak English. But what was she doing here all alone? Why didn't John take her to Bosnia with him?

I pulled her in, now looking through my computer for John's picture. I was certain he emailed me some a day or two ago. The girl leaned over me as I opened the picture, and Skye and Glenny joined her. John's face flashed on the screen, and the girl exclaimed.

"Friconsa!"
Her language was unknown, but I could tell she meant her father. I was taken aback, but I spoke to my companions:
"She's John's daughter."

 

"Oh great," Glenny said, his eyes wide as he stared at the screen, and the little girl's face filled with joy at the sight of her wretched father.

"So she's his daughter," he said with a scowl "Like we need more trouble. What do you s'pose she's doing in here?" he said, and looked at the girl. She didn't seem so cute when he knew her father.

"And how do you know it's - she's his?"

 

Skye looked at the little girl in awe. John was such a beast, yet he had created such a cute little girl. She poked the little girl in the nose, sticking her tongue out. The little girl giggled, poking her back in the nose.

She looked at Glenny, not seeing the same happiness from his side. She gave a smile.

“Where is he then?” she asked, “He can’t have just left her here…”

“Can I keep her?” asked with enthusiasm, “Can she stay and play with me until someone picks her up? I love children.”

 

Mortimer made a sudden movement and saw Chaos move in return ready to retaliate. He knew this would be a fiesty one, one that he needed to be careful with. Mortimer's grin wore off and he crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.
"They are just some f***ing weird ass things that talk to me about 'purposes' and sh*t, I don't really know what the f*** they want." He made a sudden movement toward the right corner and spun on his heels to see Chaos was still prepared for him. Chaos really wasn't going to give his guard for anything.

 

Chaos could tell that Mortimer was testing him and he laughed at the idea that Mortimer thought he might be able to escape. "What specifically do they say and how often do they appear?" says Chaos.

 

I sighed and lifted the girl in my arms. She spoke:
"Friconsa fri diu potaliyur jish."
I grinned, having no idea at all as to what was she saying.
"Like we need more trouble. What do you s'pose she's doing in here?"
Glenny asked, at which I replied:
"I don't know. Probably looking for him."
"And how do you know it's - she's his?"
I didn't know if I should've said so, but I decided to.
"John's real name is Calipto, or Calipto Souder for that matter."

Skye was more enthused than being put off.
“Where is he then?” she asked, “He can’t have just left her here…”
I shrugged, wondering that myself. John didn't seem to hate Everic, seeing how happy she was to see his face, and how she was still eyeing it lovingly.
“Can I keep her?” Skye asked with enthusiasm, “Can she stay and play with me until someone picks her up? I love children.”
I chuckled, and then asked Skye:
"Will you be able to handle her right? I'm sure she's hungry and tired, and very upset. We can't evne make out what she's trying to say."

 

She smiled, looking at the girl with full, brimming eyes.

“I can take care of her. I use to have a little brother. He couldn’t talk, besides the baby gibberish. It’s not too different. Please Miss Francine! I’ll take good care of her.”

 

Chaos laughed a little, and Mortimer grinned. Both knew that the other would be a formidable opponent. Mortimer reconsidered fighting Chaos, seeing that perhaps Chaos would make an exceptional follower.
"They come to me every now and then. I don't really pay attention to what sh*t they say." Mortimer mumbled, then randomly changed the subject, "Would you like to be saved Chaos? Everyone here will die, and you seem powerful. I'd love if you joined me." Mortimer smiled.

 

"So you don't know anything else about them. Well atleast I got some information from this talk. As for being saved, no thanks. Lucifer is my messiah. Now, I'm going to have to ask to sit back down and allow me to strap you down." says Chaos, knowing that getting Mortimer back into his chair won't be that easy.

 

Mortimer's eyes darkened, and became angry, "Lucifer, a follower of Lucifer!?" Mortimer growled. His teeth clamped together, before him stood the power of his foe, his greatest enemy. Mortimer stood across the room from him, fists clenched.
"I won't get back in that f***ing seat. You're letting me out of here." Mortimer smiled.

 

“I can take care of her. I use to have a little brother. He couldn’t talk, besides the baby gibberish. It’s not too different. Please Miss Francine! I’ll take good care of her.”

I sighed, and while I was making the decision, Everic got off my lap and hugged Skye.
"Zamrak."
She spoke, and I assumed that to be gesture of thanks. I grinned, and then spoke:
"Oh, alright. But be careful; I'm not certain as to what John would do if he found his daughter with us."
I formed a fearful expression, and shifted my gaze to Glenny who seemed to be thinking.
"I'm just so nervous about John these days. What is he up to?"

 

Skye gave a cheer, pulling the little girl into her lap.

“Thanks Miss Francine.” She said. She looked down at the little girl in her lap with a bright smile. Someone to play with, and someone to take care of. She knew she would enjoy herself.

“Miss Francine, it’s not like we stole her. She came to us. Why would he be mad?”

 

Chaos sighs and says "Yet another person that believes in the lies about Lucifer written in the bible. I know you think that you're on some kind of crusade against my lord, but you should know that you are no threat to him." Chaos laughs and says "Now you can get into that chair of your own free will or I can knock you out and put you in the chair by force."

 

After Skye asked to take care of Everic, the little girl ran into her arms. Francine spoke,

"I'm just so nervous about John these days. What is he up to?"

Glenny looked to the floor.

"That's what I'd like to know."

"Miss Francine, it’s not like we stole her. She came to us. Why would he be mad?" Skye asked. Glenny looked at Skye as she sat happily, cuddling the little girl in her lap.

"I just don't see how a man's little girl appears from nowhere and it appears she doesn't even know how to cross the street yet."

 

Mortimer giggled, "You are an amusing one Chaos. Truly, I find your company exquisite," laughed Mortimer, "But I'm not getting in that chair."
Mortimer stalked to toward Chaos, "I understand, you must not like it when I'm f***ing out of that chair, does it bother you you little sh*t?"
Suddenly Mortimer tackled Chaos and bit his arm, drawing blood.

 

"I just don't see how a man's little girl appears from nowhere and it appears she doesn't even know how to cross the street yet."

I nodded. The question was weird. She was a little girl who apparently had no idea as to how things work around here, and she got across from her father's apartment to a mental asylum, just like that? For all I knew, John lived very close to New York, and it was an hour's drive to get here. This girl was no way capable of getting here. Unless...

"Everic," I started, and then gestured with my hands, pointing to the computer screen, "where is Friconsa?"

 

Everic understood what the woman said, but didn't know how to reply. She had no idea, after all. But yes...he was in the Souder Mansion. Everic stood tall and spoke proudly:
"Souder Infinator."

She then realized that they wouldn't know what 'Infinator' was. She then quickly ran to the computer and started flipping the pictures with the mouse. When it stopped on something like a mansion, she jumped up and down, pointing towards it.
"Infinator."
She then backed away, saying loudly:
"Anti fer Souder Infinator."

 

Skye scratched her head and looked at it. A family mansion? Wouldn’t we have heard of something about this? Or at least she’d suspect Francine would.

“Does John have a Mansion?” she asked.

 

As Chaos pulls his arm away, he grabs the back of Mortimer's head and kicks Mortimer's feet out from under him. Slamming him face first into the floor. When Mortimer's head hits to floor, blood begans to flow from Mortimer's face. Chaos holds him down by keeping his knee on Mortimer's back, holding one of Mortimer's arm at a sharp angle, and holding down Mortimer's head. Chaos looks at Mortimer's face and sees that his eyes are swelling, his nose is busted and a few teeth are missing. However, Chaos also notices that there is a chunk of flesh in Mortimer's mouth. Chaos looks at his arm and sees the the blood gushing out.

Chaos begins to loudly laugh. "Did you expect that to work, you f***ing pathetic little rodent. Now are you going to give up, or am I going to have to break you arm." says Chaos.

 

“Does John have a Mansion?” Skye asked.

I shook my head, commenting:
"Not that I know of. I know his apartment is a big one, but not something we'd call a mansion."

I sighed, tired out.
"You take her with you, Skye. But stay out of sight and with an adult. In case John marches on us, abandon her immediately!"
I instructed her strictly. Boy, I had to do a lot of research on John.

 

Mortimer spit out blood and laughed, "That was an excellent move you son of a bitch. Now I'm going to have to kill you f***head."
Mortimer twisted around, breaking his arm on purpose and grabbed Chaos' face. He bashed his own head right into Chaos' forehead. He jumped up and kicked Chaos in the ribs, who in turn kicked his feet out form under him, causing him to smash into the ground again. Chaos jumped at him, but Mortimer caught him by the chest and threw him backwards. Chaos hit the ground behind him and Mortimer stood up a second time, his arm twisted and his nose bleeding. He laughed, "Any who follows Satan will follow you to the grave."
Mortimer charged Chaos who planted his feet into Mortimer's chest and pushed him backwards. Mortimer's head collided with the ground and he went out cold.
