I smiled and then walked towards her, hugging her. "Oh alright. But if there's anything, let me know." I smiled, hoping that my stress did not account for any troubles for Olena.
As Dr. Francine hugged her, she could feel tears come to her eyes, but the last thing she wanted to do was let them out. She hugged Francine back, and somehow, although the hug made her happy, it also made her sob.
I let go of Olena after a long, comfy hug. I had tears in my eeys, but I simply had no time to lose. "Well, I'll catch you later Olena, I have to go now." Olena grinned and watched me rush by, out of the hospital. I had to look up on John, and fast.
She mustered a smile, and left Francine's office. She didn't like John, one bit, and she didn't want the military here - it was uncomfortable and strange. She needed to talk to someone, and she didn't care who it was, or about what they talked, just so long as it wasn't the voice in her head, or talking about herself.
"Yes, Klesps, I guess we have been on the sidelines a little too long. Come on old friend, this has been comig for a while." Gregor grabbed his cane and began hobbling over towards Dr. Brenda. Slowly, he leaned less and less on the cane until it was barely skimming the floor. He moved a little quicker until he was right next to her. She still didn't know he was there. He whispered in her ear, "Looks like you have a problem. An alien in this hospital and what an alien - the Butcher's daughter, herself."
Brenda jumped up, alarmed, as Gregor whispered in her ear. She trembled, like a feeble ant standing against a gigantic rhinoceros. "What...what are you talking about?" Her eyes were shrinking, as though she really were shocked. She slipped her phone back into her pocket and tried to smile. "Just stay out of my way, Gregor. I don't want any trouble." She murmured, and tried to walk away.
"Do you really think you can run away from this? You are still hoping if you're a good little "girl", he'll leave you alone? You are what is known as a witness. After he gets Francine, and tries to take me - you will be one of those loose ends that he always takes care of. Your choice 'Brenda'. They don't call him the butcher for nothing."
Brenda looked away, feeling stupid. She wanted him to keep talking, but she also knew he won't say anything more than he just had. "You don't understand Gregor. You won't understand. He's...I'm...never mind. You just save yourself, I have my stuff to do." Brenda felt shame saying that, but she had to. She had no choice.
As Chaos walked around the asylum, trying to kill time, he came upon Brenda and Belleth. "Hey guys, you wouldn't happen to be talking about Calipto are you." he says. He could tell that both of them were a little suprised that he used John's real name.
Gregor shrugged. "You don't understand. You know me, you know what I'm capable of. You also know, I'm the last chance you have against John. If you come to your senses, find Klesps and me. But you're running out of time." Gregor leaned heavily on his cane again and made his way to Dr. Francine. "If she won't listen to reason Klesps, maybe we nee dto turn the heat up." Francine heard the click clack of Gregor's cane and looked up. "Things are spinning out of control Dr. and you need some friends. So, when are you going to do something Brenda?"
"Thing is, I don't know you as well as you think..." Brenda thought to herself, and then realized Niel was standing by her side. "Never mind you." She groaned and started walking out of the hallway. ****** I was about to leave the hospital, when Gregor came my way and intercepted me. "Things are spinning out of control Dr. and you need some friends. So, when are you going to do something to Brenda?" I sighed. That man was either an alien or a very good spy. "Here's what I'm doing. I'm leaving this place for good. I'm sick and tired of stupid rumors about you, John and what not." I groaned, relatively scared rather than upset.
Chaos watches Gregor walk away and says to Brenda "You know, a normal person shouldn't be able to heal for gunshot wounds that quickly. As much as I hate to admit it, he is right about Calipto. He will try to kill us all before this is over with." Chaos follows Belleth to Dr. Francine's office hoping to get more information.
Gregor put his cane in front of Francine. "Is there any part of your mind that really thinks John'll let you walk away? He has plans for you - willing or not. BTW would you like to know who that young girl is?"
Chaos overhears the conversation and says to Belleth "I would like to know about this girl if she is that important." while thinking about Calipto and his plan.
Gregor turned to Chaos. "First things first. I'm still waiting for those items I asked for. I'll gladly tell you everything, if you could just give me those trinkets. Besides Dr. Francine really needs to make her choice."
I didn't know what planning was going on between Gregor and Niel, but then again; I didn't care. "I know who she is. She's John's daughter." I paused, and then finished: "Look, Gregor, I believe nothing is too irrational to be dealt with. My rationality suggests that I should just get out of here for now. You may not understand, but this soup is just too thick."
Chaos says to Belleth "I have what you asked for and I can give them to you anytime you ask." He turns to the doctor and says "Staying out of it isn't a very good survival strategy in this case doc. Calipto will kill us all if we don't take care of him soon."
Gregor carefully handed her one of Skye's blocks. "The girl's fingerprint is on there. How much do you want to bet, you can't find a trace of who she is? Just like me. Just like John and .... just like Brenda. BTW why don't you find yourself a linguist? FInd a hundred, no one will speak her language or even know what it is. You need my and Klsps' help Francine. Deep down, I think you know that's true. I think you know that if you run away, you will only be getting yourself into deeper trouble."
Gregor nodded his thanks toward Chaos. "She's Calipto's daughter. If you thought he was dangerous before, wait till he shows up here. There's more going on here than even Klesps and I figured on. John is coming. He's going to take Francine, try and take me, and kill the rest of you."
"No he isn't, Doctor Handel, because I've got a plan." She whispered, although she knew none of them could hear. She began to walk to her room - she could do this alone, at first, but she needed her own help.
Chaos looks at Belleth and says "Actually that is something we need to talk about. I know what is plan is and if we keep our wits, we should be able to take care of him when he attempts to execute his plan."
"I...I don't know." I was near to crying. This was too weird and too scary. So that was it. Gregor was an alien, John was an alien, Brenda was an alien and even that cute girl. Who wasn't? Who wasn't the bad guy? Everyone was wrong and messed up. "FRANCINE!" John's angry and threatening voice was heard. I was paled to white, and felt the ground shaking. Niel and Gregor spun around to see what was up with John. John came marching in, with two men by his side. I gulped; he looked REALLY angry. He took no note of what and who was around and grabbed me by collar. "Where is my daughter?" "I...I don't know." "You know, you liar. Tell me." "I'll get her for you." I bit my lower lip. Skye, get away from Everic! "NO! Tell me." He growled, and then slapped me really hard. I trembled, and feared my life. The men suddenly spoke: "We heard her giggle, sir! She's in that room!" John left me alone and started marching to Skye's room. "NO! Don't!" I gasped for breath and tried to ignore the throbbing pain in my cheeks. He broke open into Skye's room who watched John dauntingly. "Everic!" His voice softened, and he grabbed Everic. Everic giggled, and then spoke: "Friconsa timult cha. Nor fin." He kissed her forehead, and then turned to Skye. Skye gave him a sneer, but John didn't respond. He simply clicked his fingers and walked out of the room with Everic by his side. "Cut off her left arm and right leg." "NO!" I screeched, and tugged him furiously, he spun around and slapped me once more. "I do as I like because this place is under my control, not yours Dr. Francine." Gregor and Niel tried to save Skye, but Brenda held them back. "Save yourselves, you idiots!" Was all she said, when blood spurted from Skye's leg and arm and her squeaky screams inundated the hospital.
Her key was gone - the key to nothing, and her broken mirror had been taken from the wall. She wasn't a cutter, except cutting into her walls, but now she had nothing to mark with. She had her bed, a piece of paper . . . She took the paper and administered a long, deep cut into her arm. With the blood she wrote on her wall: LISTEN TO ME AND DO AS I SAY
