Dude, cyborgs are awesome!

In this galaxy the fuctional definition of cyborg is anyone with both biological and machine elements, but specifically someone with a traditional moving part machine in their body. Therefore, anyone with say, a prosthetic arm or eye implant would be a cyborg.

There's one cyborg player, Paedolos' character Akinlabi. Also there's an NPC named Gunner Adamski who is actually more machine than human, with only a few biological bits left. He appears to be a robot to everyone but has a human heart, brain, and part of his digestive system intact (he's like General Grievous from Star Wars almost).

 

Is it possible to have a human cyborg with a....this is going to sound weird. But I was wondering if their body was part machine, part human. Meaning his human parts only work if the machine part works. And was wondering if it all possible in this world he could have a brain and a microchip?

 

that's not weird at all, without the machine parts Gunner Adamski would just be a few slabs of beef, and without the biological parts he would just be a hollow mechanical husk without anything to run it.

you can def have a mind/machine blend, that sort of thing is not unusual in my galaxy, but just keep in mind that simulated humans (simulacra) and artificially intelligent machines are both very tabboo in my galaxy. Also, microchips as you think of them went obsolete before the end of the twenty first century

 

Well they are still cyborg. Just wanted to make their human parts of them more reliant on the machine parts. Like a half mechanical heart, that has not only human pumps, but machine pumps.

What of burns? Would it okay if the character had a scar burn on their "flesh"? Or would that have been er fixed?

Name: Mortimer Iah

Nickname: Mort or Morty [if you're friends enough]

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Appearance: His eyes are golden, but they appear as cloudy and foggy as a winter day. His hair is silver, and sheens like metal, but it feels as soft as hair should be. His skin is pale and he looks peaky most times. He wears an essence about him that seems somewhat lost in his head. His clothes generally consist of a black vest made of synthetic material, a sweater with a hood. Black slacks and black combat boots. On his face is the reminder of all his troubles. A burn mark.

Personality: Mort isn't exactly the best of people to know. He's extremely introverted and he appears to be inside his head at times. He's a bit airy and spacey and can jump from topics that no one was even talking about. Despite these downsides though Mortimer appears to be a very lonely and sad soul. He seems lost and seems to make himself wonder around a lot of the time. He is also very sinister person with a very cold heart. Mort has the tendency to scratch at his burn scar, making it fester and becoming infected. Simply because there may be more than physical pain, but psychological pain. Its as if the burn is the physical manifestation of everything he holds inside himself. Mort isn't very trusting of people, he's been viewed differently because of what is on his face and thus he simply has become less open with people. Mort isn't as closed off as some think, treat him well and he is a very kind person.

Background:

In a small community Mortimer had grown up. It was one of those places, which is very hard to find in these days, where everyone knew everyone. The community was slowly being rebuilt however and one efficient way was the use of nuclear energy. Mortimer spent most of his life a book worm. He didn't much think about the military nor did he think of joining any forces. He did at one point in time want to be an astronomer. However, maybe his thoughts have changed since the accident. The nuclear plant running and being active got into some problems and exploded. It caused fires and left many dead. Mortimer doesn't remember much from then. All he has left is the picture of the scar on his face.

Mortimer spent most of his life after that somewhat searching. Somewhat homeless. Somewhat lost and alone. Recently he found himself a nice little bunker to stay the night in. However, he hadn't realized this bunker moved. As the bunker moved he found himself stuck on a Aerospace Force squad ship. This was of course a little illegal and an oh no moment.
He was founded, but currently they aren't holding him as prisoner. All though not military personal he has been asked to make himself useful.

 

Hey, I hope I'm not ruining the story by making Nathan sick and everything, if you like, I could edit that bit out.

So do you have a rough idea of what will be happening so I can get myself into the game?

 

Jesca, having crossed paths with the team (and added some of her own brand of chaos), will be out of active play for a while. I'm sure she made an impression, especially with Pappy.

For now, she's off prospecting again. But who knows what may turn up out there.

And like a bad penny, she could show up again at any time.

EDIT: scratch that, based on Mort's background he was a stowaway, and ended up getting locked up for it. Since NRG's character pretty much ended up headed for jail and Pappy and Dog are looking for him they'll end up finding you there. Standby.

Another update, this is kind of what Specter's planning room looks like, she has lots of nice toys in there, like vid screens, interface consoles, and holographic emitters.
