    Marauder activity in the aerospace near the 61 Cygni system has increased. 61 Cygni Aerospace Forces are on high alert, United Earth Armed Forces in the area are on high alert.

    A patrol party has been dispatched to assess and assist, Achilles class Starship UESS Athena has been assigned.

    You have orders to proceed at once and report for duty aboard the Athena, you are not authorized to bring pets, family members, or contraband.

    Alright guys, the first reboot post has been posted. The Athena is about to leave the system for 61 Cygni, the colonists there have a problem, a Marauder problem. Seems like we have some kind of fight on our hands, I need you all to cowboy up and kick in. If any of you don't feel up for the challenge let me know right now and I'll have you transferred to a medical unit, or a post behind a desk.:)

    Do we have our own mobile weapon units like the mauraurders? If so, is there any specific design we need to stick to? Other then no giant robots? XD

    Probably the Operations or Intelligence officer from earlier in the game. Can't remember his name, why?

    Count me in. I have to decide what became of Dog* after he showed his face. Maybe he got a pardon.

    *When I came up with the nickname "Dogface", I didn't give it a second thought. Things have changed. Now, every time I shorten it to Dog, I think of that damn bounty hunter. Maybe I should make a new character since he didn't have much screen time to begin with.

    Hooray! Everyone's coming back together! I'm posting now, just a question, could I reveal in a few posts what happened where we left off? It'd just be through Nathan's memories of the ordeal. I've got a bit of past stuff I wanna put in for Nathan explaining why he was locked out, who got him out, and what he's doing back here.

    Also, I hope Carter doesn't get TOO dark, I liked him funny! :D

    Then again, I also liked his emotional side (when he found the girl with the organ thieves).

    Yeah. Nathan, although he seems nearly exactly the same, is extremely different. As I mentioned in his first post, he doesn't exactly trust anyone anymore, nor does he like them at all (the cold hearted officials part). I'll post soon...

    This time around I'm going to make sure to pander to everyone's wants.


    Lebby, I know you want to be a starfighter pilot, so I'm probably gonna hook you up with a craft to pilot.

    Peter has expressed interest in a kind of mobile armored fighting suit, I can definetly do that too.

    I'm thinking NRG wants a small tactical squad of his own to command, I'll put you in charge of that and give old Pappy a break:)

    Tomorrow night I think I'll post the briefing, it will be kind of detailed but not so much that you need to take notes. It should be fun but not homework.

    I don't thinks it's possible for me to choose her, which is kind of unfortunate. =[

    So guys, I'll have my character up by later this afternoon. Should it be a new character, or should I resurrect Trin?

    Take notice, I have posted our briefing in the game thread, grab your guns! In the discussion thread I have links posted on the first page for the Marauders, the 61 Cygni colony, and our ship, the Athena. f you have trouble finding them let me know, but don't feel like you have to do a ton of reading. When it comes to that stuff, it's all fluff, the crunch is what you guys do and bring to the table, remember to have fun!

    The flagship of our sister fleet, the fleet of the Cygnan colonists, is the CCSS Spartacus. She has a class named after her and will more than likely be fighting besides us. My inspiration for the Spartacus was kind of like the Battlestars from Battlestar Galactica, just with a spinning section to provide artificial gravity.

    Any details of what going to hapen we'll need to learn about? And ps, what level of thruster technology do we have? Still burning fuel?

    Nathan was asked to be on the bridge commanding fire onto the enemy ships. However, now that I reread the discussion posts, you were interested in commanding a team I think. If this is the case, let me know. I can rewrite the Skipper's briefing so that you can command a boarding team. Must make players happy.:rolleyes:

    Affirmative. I don't want to overlad ya'all with too many details, but I will be occassionally posting updates and more fluff in the discussion thread.

    There is one detail I should have mentioned via the Skipper that I forgot to bring up. As of right now, the Athena is on her way to a wormhole generator. When she gets there she will make a FTL jump to the 61 Cygni system, cos that's how we get around the stellar neighborhood in this universe.

    Travel will be nearly instantaneous, expect action soon afterwards.


    And fuel burning thrusters? What are we, barbarians? Fuel burning stopped in the 21st century son, this is the 24th century.:p The thrusters of the Phalanx armor work like scaled down versions of the thrusters on the ships. Essentially, they use magnetically propelled plasma to produce thrust. Fancy stuff.


    EDIT: Mingo! Even though I havent officially said it yet, I am very glad to see that you're back, and to see Trin alive and breathing again too, she's a great character. Question for you---I know that Trin wants some revenge on some Marauder scum, how do you want to go it? You want to fight with a boarding team? Command a boarding shuttle? Direct fire from the bridge, what?:)

    To answer your question, it's more of what you decide to happen that will bring about the outcome of how she reacts. The closer you put Trin in proximity of marauders, the more violent she will become. It all depends on what side of her you would like to see. Put her in a boarding party, or better yet have her on a ship that gets boarded, you will see a very colorful side of that hasn't been seen before.

    It's just up to what you decide to do. I mean, I can't control her, she's her own angry, vengeful woman. What can I do stop her? haha

    In all seriousness though, you've seen and read what she can do. Placing her on the deck of a ship is entirely possible because of her being raised as a spacer and daughter of a ship's captain. You've also seen how stern she can get on the ground in the rough. It all depends on what her orders are.
